Is multiboxing alowed?

" 4 ways since its 4 charecters. It seems you more worried about what I get and you dont then understand what multiboxing really is. My sister behaved like that also when she was 5 |

" Now where did insults come into this? But, doing the mature thing, ignoring the insults, and sticking to the topic: A party of 1 guy controlling 4 characters the loot goes to the 1 guy. Obviously it'll be used to make his main, or lead, character better. Now I suppose this might not be much different from a group of 4 people who were perfectly casual and friendly splitting things up as to purely need instead of greed, but how often does that actually happen? Another advantage the multiboxer has is that his teammates never have to take a bathroom break at the wrong time, or get a call from their significant other, or have a knock at the door. Not only that, but his teammates are always ready when he is and they are perfectly designed and outfitted to fit into the roles he has devised. A multiboxer's party always acts with one mind. No one ever loots out of turn. No one ever decides to do something unexpected. All members are under his control. Now how can you honestly say that you gain no advantage by multiboxing a party of 4 over the player who plays only one character at a time? |

" Ok, maybe 1 is a ninja looter, but that's the chance you take unless, of course, you're multiboxing. |

I take it you have never grouped up and split up to farm.
The mechanics are the exact same as if someone was multi loading or multi boxing. Both of which are completely different mind you. |

except you only get to clear 1/6th of an instance while in a live group. When multi boxing/loading you get a full clear.

" And, even assuming our hypothetical multiboxer is only a script kiddie and not a real programmer, he or she can add in enough automated assistance, using the right builds, so as to clear at a rate of somewhere close to half the speed of the split up live group. Of course, it would depend upon the map, the builds, and the skills. I'm going to bow out of any further participation in this topic though. I'm a retired programmer and, frankly, thinking about how to do what a misguided multiboxer could do makes me a bit ill these days. |

" Irrelevant. You're clearing faster. For the record, when I say farm, I'm referring to the wide open spaces of fellshrine. In which case, the statement "farm the road", is what one does when playing solo. So, they're not getting a full clear either. If each person takes distance from each other, and you move forward, you effectively clear the full zone, in a type of pseudo /players x scenario. Except in this case, you're actually playing with other players. Who knows what A3 will bring though. Only a couple weeks left til we all find out. Ok said I was going to bow out but have to make one last comment. We're following a straw man argument here. It is not what 6 human players can do compared to 1 multiboxer that counts, it is what 1 human player can do compared to 1 multiboxer. Keep that clearly in mind.
And with this as a last last comment, I'm gone - logging in to play for awhile. |
