Orbs: Buying > Crafting

GGG needs to up the amount of orb drops and maybe increase the maximum stacks of orbs you can carry people will figure out the shit for prices even after an overhaul of the orb drops

RNG will still be RNG but people will have a better chance at crafting what they want

This. I want to craft my gear by myself. I don't want to trade for it since I'm trying to play self found but when you reach L65+ and want to start mapping. You are FORCED to start trading so you can survive.
Why can't I be the lone wolf exile? I want more orbs, I would like to be able to waste 20ex/eternals on a bad piece of L65 gear that would help me get to maps. Then redo the same process at map L70 and so on.
This game is as bad as Diablo 3. If you are good at trading/likes to trade then you will be rich. And all I want to do is play the fracking game.
People took this down a weird trade pricing route. I think the OP was saying he wants crafting to be more feasible and accessible to normal players. Not that he wants trade prices to drop. (And I get that making crafting more accessible will fluctuate trade prices)
It is a fact though that unless you have a huge amount of orbs, spending things like chaos or exalts is the dumbest thing you can do. Orbs are a cool concept, but its something that like 90% of the playerbase can't participate in.

Yeah, trade prices i dont mind its just that with the orb drops right now crafting isnt really a good option. Not with multiple chars either.

It will always be cheaper to buy something than to make it yourself or else people would simply make things for a profit.

This. I've always been one to gamble, but got burnt on my last attempt to craft something from scratch. Save all currency and just buy stuff.

Say you have a pyramid of players.
Gold.
Silver.
Bronze.

The Golds have nobody to buy from really, imagine they have the best gear available on the market. All they want is currency, because it is necessary to craft better gear. The Golds will sell their old Silver gear and any Silver gear they find or craft to the Silvers because it is irrelevant to them. The gear will probably be priced at quite a bit less than the currency used on average to craft it. This is because if they priced the things higher the Silvers would just craft things, also because the currency has much more value to the Golds then petty Silver gear. The Silvers might throw down a tiny bit of currency to craft a very niche kind of item, but for the most part they will just buy from the Golds. When you're a Bronzy you'll always find gear that is much better than yours on the market, even if you are playing a niche build. There's almost no reason to use currency on items because there is an excess of cheap items on the market.

The people who are going to craft the most are the people who already have better gear than what's the market, or people who can't find top tier items that fit into their build correctly. Currency efficiency is another thing to factor in. What's more efficient, alching a ilvl 20 Onyx Amulet or alching an ilvl 70 one?

This doesn't mean you can't have a little bit of fun tossing around orbs as a newer player. Sometimes it's better just to 4L and chrom your own drops. There are drop chance orbs on, because white items plenty of things for newer players to fall somewhere between worthless and an orb of scouring if you consider the items they can chance into. You'll be making money by chancing for the best uniques, and it doesn't hurt to chance things like Onyx amulets because you can probably use the fodder. If you have really crappy equipment while leveling you can start transmuting drops, and when you get a set of 5 magic items of the same type (Thief's Garb or Leather Belt for example) you can vendor them for another piece of magic gear, this is much cheaper than blowing alterations, and most likely cheaper than trading too (people rarely sell things for under a fusing, and a lot of transmutations go into a fusing). When you get to higher levels alching accessories and even some armor and weapons is probably profitable, because of the "worthless to scouring" spectrum of white items that I mentioned earlier.
But why demand exalteds when people like me cant even get more than 2? I got only 1 now actually and none has dropped i like forever.

I just want to collect some ex to craft with them that's all. I would still trade i love that part of the game too but crafting at first sounded more like something i was looking for in a game than anything else.
Start grinding.
The silent majority.
If orbs were more comon then the average gear would be better too so every loot you get from monsters except currency would be basically worthless. Peoples QQing about how expensive crafting is should just do like me : buy items with their orbs rather than trying to craft their gear.

Of course the top crafters are mostly all RMT and let's hope that GGG ban them all even if they bought the exalted supporter pack. You cheat = you get banned no matter how much money you spent supporting the game. All the money you threw in supporter packs to support the game is VOID if you RMT. Doing RMT = the complete opposite of supporting a game, it kills it and i hope GGG doesn't give a player a free pass because he bought a one grand supporter pack. You cheat = you get banned.
Question:

Do you all buy rare high level maps or do you craft them?

Every drop from monster now is basically worthless.

RMT doesn't kill a game either. If that were true WoW would have died years ago. RMT doesn't kill a game BUT RMT doesn't support a game either.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.
