Orbs: Buying > Crafting

What i expected from being able to craft with orbs was more like: Orbs: Crafting = Buying.

The way it is now makes it impossible to trade for those items in the trade chat since they almost always cost a bunch of EX which i will never ever have without flipping items and ripping people off and such.

Its really sad that the most fun part about POE is being reserved for the people that are either farming for orbs all day or using RMT sites to get their crafting material.

Can something be done about this in the future i wonder?

Its almost like in that other game, where the so called legendary items just didn't want to drop until it was patched.
GGG needs to up the amount of orb drops and maybe increase the maximum stacks of orbs you can carry people will figure out the shit for prices even after an overhaul of the orb drops

RNG will still be RNG but people will have a better chance at crafting what they want

Drop rates don't enter into it. It will always be cheaper to buy something than to make it yourself or else people would simply make things for a profit. It can't happen in a game.

This is what i want, some orb drop adjustments so it isn't for the best of the best and the richest of the rich to craft with a bunch of exalts, eternals or divines.

I have 1 exalt, haven't found one in a lot of time and i got 21 chars. Some more orbs would be nice to craft stuff for my chars.

Well it is true that anything regret and higher is way more useful as a trade currency than it is as an actual orb used to modify items.

It is interesting to think that when I first started playing the game I used to think and even tell others "this game doesn't have currency! It won't be currency based trading."
I think part of this mindset was me thinking in a D2 style of trading where you trade gear, for gear.
Now I that I'm more well versed in the game I tell people to hoard every orb they get. The game is a currency based trading system, the currency is just orbs now. I think maybe I've ever only traded gear for another peice of gear once. And it wasn't cause I could use the gear, it was so I could sell it for more currency.
What exactly is your complaint? If you can't afford gear that costs several exalted you should probably look at some cheaper gear. There is lots of decent gear available for a few chaos a piece. You can easily eo maps with that gear with the right build. As for buying versus crafting I have no ifea what you're trying to say.
The only way that POE can be TRULY currency-free is to remove trading entirely. As long as the option to trade exists, people WILL find something to use as a base dollar. Even if orbs were account-bound, the SOJ-precedent says hello.

I have loved and enjoyed the game, but drop rates are still adjusted with heavy farmers and traders in mind, which means that on average, those who can't be bothered with trading and don't have 10 hours a day to farm will still be severely disadvantaged.

If D3's droprates were made unfavorable due to the AH, then so are POE's due to the existence of trading.
You can complete the game and start mapping with 1 ex worth of gear or even less, people need to stop comparing themself to others who have 300 ex gear sets.

Its not about removing trading in any way, i just wish crafting would be a bit more of a possibility just like trading and even farming is for many people.

I actually like trading and would keep doing it even if i could craft more so there isn't even the argument of if i would craft my gear i wouldn't trade at all.
