@GGG: Why do low level uniques (legendaries) drop at high level?!

I'd say Barry's post sums this whole issue up pretty well.

The issue isn't that the low level uniques can't be "good" at high level. It's that your standards for "good" are actually "the best fucking items in the game".

Can't agree with that at all. What does your post above have to do with finding a tiki amulet 50 times in maps?

Not every item dropped is going to be that great? Is that crazy or what? Again, I'll urge you to check out the many, many low level common uniques that are very useful and even BiS at high levels in some cases.

Yes please. That way when uniques drop its a lot more exciting instead of disappointing.

You can't cover up the drop rate by dropping a ton of low lvl starter gear. It doesn't help.

I call bullshit. You would whine and moan about not finding anything. You know it, and I know it.

But this is where I stop posting here. Some people flat out don't get it. You guys want instant gratification and just can't wrap your head around the idea of a functional economy or proper risk/reward.

You can keep fooling yourselves into thinking this has anything to do with low level uniques being "troll items" or whatever nonsense. But it's pretty obvious you just want to find high level shit regularly, which is just not realistic.

Think what you want. It should be common sense that finding crown of thorns and tiki's over and over and over and over, is unnecessary in the end game.

Ya the drop rate of good stuff is low which makes sense when the game is balanced around trading. But you can't cover that up by finding the same starter gear for the umpteenth time.

Edit: I have plenty of great stuff, I found a tabula rasa for the first time today which was awesome. The drop rate of good stuff has nothing to do with my opinion on this issue.

Well, there are a bunch of low level uniques that are at least worth a bunch of chaos, up to exalts.

MF rings/le heups/anti freeze ring/perandus signet/searing touch/etc

And, if you're like me, never get one. The one SoJ I found, and probably the only legit one I ever had, came from a pot in act 2!

Why you should try Harcore http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/209310/page/1
Well, usually all the low level stuff is great for when you'll want to level a new character. I never found an unique worth more than 1 chaos (level 78 character), but they are very good for their level requirements and some can be good for a long time if you start a new character and build around them (like a Pillar of Caged God, I steamrolled all Normal difficulty with a Scion equipping it, and it's still good in Cruel).

I do agree that the drop rate for good stuff is abysmal, unless you can afford to run high level maps with MF gear (since most of the high level uniques that everyone wants are now ilevel 71+). It's probably justified, since you can always trade for them and/or it gives you a goal to aim for.

I don't understand the low drop rates in a temporary league.

Diablo 2 had an insane drop rate on items and certain things that could be abused like forge rushing for runes but even then it was v.hard to max out every class with top tier items and runewords.

Just getting a single character with 7 or more +40 life skill charms and Fathom/CoA tier items took quite awhile, i doubt many if any players geared more than 3-4 classes like that in an entire ladder season without duping/boting or exploiting.

Why can't PoE be closer to that, what's wrong with having 2-3 builds extremely well geared. At the current rate it seems just getting a single build fully geared before the season ends is optimistic. I'm kinda new to PoE but from what ive seen so far a very well equipped character seems to cost around 150+ exalted.

There's so many possible fun and unique builds that could work with certain items but its just too risky to invest that much currency and time into it. Take an item like koams, the passive points saved by not needing as many life nodes opens up loads of possible unique and fun builds but you can't ever plan a build around that item and even if you could risking 30 exalted on a build that might not even work just isn't worth it.

Items like Koams and Shavs are like D2's Enigma runeword in terms of making/allowing specific builds, would it really be so bad if loads of players could own one and make a build around them, same goes for the other build allowing items and ones that will eventually be added into the game.

I hate this shit too. when are you gys gonna change it so we can actually get uniques that are usable for our current level. sick and tire of all these low lever BS. Can't advance anymore. no AH to buy high level items too, and i don't really trust these third party websites that sell items, so this is it, for me.

Y does every good Action RPG got to have such a big flaw, FUCK!!!

As much as i hate you for using the "Legendary" word...
i partially agree
Its ok to have low level unique to drop in high areas... but the problem is that these low unique are like 95% of the drops in high areas
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

Their purpose for doing so is meant to drag the game's longevity of loot finding sadly.

Pretty much this, why have a great game you can play a character through in a week when they can stretch out the game by a factor of 100 and give a mediocre game.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right.
