Anyone else hate the Imperial Gardens?

I love the size, but hate all the monsters other than devourers. They're cool. Everything else is fucking annoying.
All of the new content is "too hard" when taken in comparison to the act 3 we had before launch. That fact doesn't bother me, but it's a symptom of something that does. The developers seem to want to make their game based on the top players, rather than some more obtainable mean character. That's bad for the game. If there's a wall to progress as early as normal difficulty, players will quit and find another game rather than figure out this one. Normal should be casual friendly. Cruel should be tough... and maybe too tough. Merci should be developed based on the high end characters people are coming up with.

They've got it all backwards.
Whoever designed the a3 expansion content was a dick.

Gardens -> Unique mob with ref phys/magic, both. You get into it, even if you ignore that dude, half the mobs RUN to find CORPSES, so if you're after killing everything it instantly becomes a pain in the ass to do it, and the other half EXPLODE in some "worse than ref" fashion because if you have vaal pact you just took damage that isn't going to heal.

Sceptre of god -> 2 Unique mobs, one of which throws massive lagspike traps that deal absurds amount of damage, one of which heals to full off every corpse laying around him making the fight last 15-20s longer than it should. Then you look at the other mobs, LEAP SLAMMING ARCITC BREATH mobs, mobs that go invuln unless you're melee ranged, and finally mobs that are like the tentacle dudes on crack that also slow your projectile cast speed.



Overall, not even hard content, just beyond annoying, I avoid it all like the plague.

completely agree

seems like the whole of act 3 is just made to be annoying more than difficult

think about it every "dangerous" mob mechanic comes from act 3 ...

the whole act 3 is not so well desigend like the previous acts.
but the imperial gardens suck big time ... i really hope act 4 will be more like act 1 or 2 again.

i usually just look for dudes who can rush me thru act 3. and i am not the only one doing so.

that says it all. the designers of act 3 should really think twice if that is what they intended, that people skip their content as fast as possible. please do not mess up with act 4.


i hate to have my current end game being in act 3 because i hate it completly ... best part of it is still the library/archives ...

I was fine with the Gardens. I mean, it was harder then the rest of the content as I would run in front of my minions into a firing squad of enemies. xD

But I enjoyed it.

The rain of the Imperial Gardens causes a lot of fps drop for me, certain areas of the game seem to do that.

Off the top of my head:
-The Docks
-The cloudy effect that's off the walkable paths in Solaris
-The rain area's in the Scepter of God causes massive fps drops
-The lightning trap mobs in the Scepter of God
-The entire Dominus fight's weather effects
-The Imperial Gardens
Act 3 mobs are tactically interesting. Trouble is, the tactical skill of this game is not what makes it enjoyable so forcing it higher is just annoying.
Personally, a range of difficulty across the content adds spice. If you want to just mindlessly splatter everything in front of you, there's plenty of other areas for that.
Only thing that makes me sad about it is that there are no better rewards to clearing these zones in comparison to other much more easy ones.

The whole of Act 3 just sucks for me. Act 1 and 2 are more directed and fun, whereas act 3 can be quite annoying at times, ESPECIALLY the gardens.
