eternal lotteries = scam

Under normal circumstances and average 6L/mod rolling probability (provided you're not trying to exalt tyrannical), lotteries are far from a scam. Anyone telling you otherwise is butthurt on several levels.


That and, well, most people on the internet don't know what a scam is.

There certainly are scammers out there, but that doesn't mean lotteries are an inherent scam. Hate the player, not the game.

So this is how some shady people are so rich. The lotteries..

Don't fall for these scams.

Don't do lotteries and don't trade with people whose price is 'offer' or 'buying all uniques' - Ignore these people so you never deal with them. There is not a whole lot of people that play this game each ignore can hurt someones ability to trade.

GG you win, it's better than a 6L Shavronnes too because you are doing a favor for everyone who plays!

I put anyone who advertises a lottery on ignore, roll your own shit.

some of the biggest crooks on the server made thousands of exalts scamming eternals and then offering the finished item for mirroring.

Ok just pointing this out: every "lottery" is a scam. I was one of the first people to ever do these things and by god it was the easiest 6L shavronne's I could've ever gotten.

But it's still perfectly fine. It's what gambling is. If you don't know the odds that you are facing vs. the reward that is really your fault. How do you think real world casinos work? lol

With that aside the OP is a pretty good PSA though. It's worth the read trust me if you want an idea of how unrealistic your odds are.

Anyone who participates in these so-called lotteries in POE are noobs and deserve to get ripped off.
