Am I actually enjoying D3???

I have nothing against people who enjoy D3. There is obviously some kind of an audience for the game or nobody would be playing it at all.

However, starting a thread on the POE forums about it is at this point in time, trollbait... or at least, vengeful discussion. You shouldn't expect less, especially if you start the thread out on a positive beat, "I'm having fun with it!"

There are some people who enjoy stacking pennies in a particular way. I'm not one of those people, in the same way I'm playing POE and not D3. D3's merits... whatever they may be, don't appeal to me at all, I'd prefer if they had no more influence over how POE is developed than they already do. People saying D3 "isn't that bad" has a negative impact on POE, because it may give the developers a false impression over what's good game design.

Point being, you would have more fun with D3 if it had been designed better and its creators were less concerned with siphoning you of your money. Anyone can find fun in something (like rolling around in mud), that doesn't mean it's worth praise. We don't really understand what fun is, really. It's more useful to analyze what makes a game deep and enduring, than what makes a game fun.

You can't have everything all the time. So the choice is which skills + runes do you want to use. Maybe there is confusion here because you think that you change skills "on the fly" in D3?

Also, have you heard of Nephalems Valor? It's a quite important feature.

But you should not think that what you think is better is what everyone thinks is better.

I disagree, anubite...and given I'm the one who has to enforce any such rules, I think it's probably important that I disagree. To even say otherwise is to implement a sort of implicit censorship. Sometimes that works, but not with something as enduring as D3 discussion -- it is, after all, still a very relevant ARPG and this game is hoping to become precisely that: a relevant ARPG.

Trapper's actually been on my friends list for as long as I've been here, give or take (I'll never forget that I had no idea who he was for a while because he changed account names), and I know this thread was made in earnest.

The threads pretty well derailed isn't it? Do what you will with the thread. I got what I wanted to say out of my system, but I have no problem with others debating stuff completely off the thread OP. No matter to me. Honestly I saw it was all two people pissing back and forth and ignored all of it.
