post-OB leagues, currency values

To counteract the P2W aspect of the alchemy recipe and to allow all players to turn rare items into alchemy orbs they should add a new recipe to the game.

I feel that un-identified rares should sell for 1-5 alchemy shards. Using the matching recipe would still generate more orbs per item but with the new recipe all players would have consistent access to alchemy orbs. As a side benefit if rare items are sold for alchemy shards then the rarity of ALT and Fusings would increase.

Not really because, people would still just do name matching. Why would I want to sell 4 to 20 rares for 1Alch (without seeing if they are good) when I could sell 2 rares and get 1Alch.

Still an issue of no balance.

You guys are pulling the topic away into a "recipe P2W" aspect, when its about the overall worth of what an alch to fusing/alt should be.

2 rares = 1 alch
10 rares = 8 alts
8 alts = 1 alch

That's where the issue is.
There is an imbalance with either selling rares for alts, or the recipe for alchs.

The topic really is, what is the value of alchs because right now with that recipe, they are really like 2 rares = 1 alch, which means they are valued at about 1 alt.

And as I think someone may have already pointed out, if you put the alchemy orbs right back into rolling more rares, the alch rolls you get out of the recipe process approach the amount of rares you put into the recipe process, aka 1 rare input nearly = 1 alch roll output, which is pretty incredible.

It's a geometric series of x/(2^n) where x is the number of input rares (so with 1 rare it's the old 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 etc etc though you obviously need a lot of rares to approach a 1:1 input:output since you can't have fractional rares :p )

EDIT: you are going to read false facts...

i just want to point out some facts:
- there are about 20000 different rare names.
- If you only store amuletts for the alch recipe you would need about 70 stash tabs which equals
210$
- even diamond supporters cant store all their rare items for the alch recipe

That means that you have to trade with other players for the alch recipe and that it does NOT make the game pay to win.
I also wouldnt say that 2 rares = 1 alch because searching for matches/trading them takes a lot of time and is boring even with HomeAbsolute´s chrome extension.

Yeah I would like to know the real time investment and rate of return over non-infinite time/storage conditions.

Like, those of you who do serious name matching, during a 1 month span, can you give the following information:

-rares stored
-matches made
-time spent on storing and matching

To see what % of rares get matched during a month of finds and how much time is spent per match.

By that statement you're saying there are 100 prefix and 100 suffix for amulet names (10000 diff. names, max of 70 stash tabs to store 1 of each). I think are you exaggerating a lot.

Man you're going to feel like such an idiot when you realize your mistake...

Edit: I feel bad for you so here we go... mod affix name != rare item affix name
