Patch Not Applying (Steam)

Confirming that restarting steam and then downloading a (very lengthy) 10mb patch allowed me to play. About 2 min patch on a 15Mb/sec line but no idea active download speed.

Also, patching issues with games on Steam is not exclusive to PoE. Steam is notoriously tricky - sometimes, particularly early on. They have a stand alone version if you don't want the hassle :)

I'm seeing the same issue. I went to steam for the easy updates it typically has provided me.

Why Not Downloading Patch?? Though i have a strong internet?

Patience seemed to work for me the manage downloads tab has shown about 4 "downloads" complete during the patching process taking about 15 min on a 40Mb connection via Steam.

You need to wait for your Steam region to update the patch. You should know when the patch is ready when the 1.3.1c patch news shows up in the recent news feed in Steam. You can also try changing your Steam region to UK to force a download from a different server.

That's how it worked for me. Do not click 'Launch when ready', just wait. The progress bar will complete, then start over. When THAT one is done, it actually applied the patch.

Nothing has worked for me but this.
Just unselect "Launch when ready" checkbox. After the first and small download completes, don't close the dialog box, wait for ~1 min and then another download will start automatically (~53MB). Though it takes ~15 min to implement such a small patch - but at least it launches now.
