Patch Not Applying (Steam)
|
Update worked now. Had to let it auto-update rather than start the game and update it seems.

" Tryed this and it fixed the patching process for me. Go in steam>my games, right clic on path of exile>properties> Local files and clic on verify integrity of game cache, after that i did pause/restart patching and now i can play Thanks :) |

For some reason it seems to be redownloading.
Before I restarted Steam, I moved content.ggpk to a temporary folder, started the update, cancelled it, moved the file back to its location and tried updating. It seems to just be redownloading the whole game again - despite showing the size as 10.1 mb / 10.1 mb. Weird. (I verified the cache once more in an effort to tell Steam that the content file was restored) So I cant personally verify if restarting steam works, but based on the replies here it looks like it's doing the trick for most people :) I'm just going to let the download run while I read some more of The Black Company |

Same issue. It is a cycle. I run the game from steam, it SAYS it's updating, then, when the game runs, it prompts me to restart and update. I will try to re-download the game. This past week has been one frustrating technical issue after another, and it is getting tiring. I really like this game, and I do not want to abandon it, but I will if constant issues render it often unplayable, which has been my experience thus far.

I re-downloaded the game. The problem is not fixed. It is still prompting me to update. This is ridiculous, people. How do you expect to build a player base if you cannot keep your game functional for longer than a week?

'Verify Integrity Of Game Cache' under Properties -> Local Files fix it for me

" if you're redownloading I'd suggest just grabbing the standalone client. there's due to be lots of tiny patches as they fix bugs when they come up it's likely isolated to steam, since it's so new on it |

Restarting Steam worked for me. Once restarted it recognized that there was a new update and automatically started downloading the update without me having to do anything - from the Games Library.
Also, it seemed odd that this was a 10.1mb patch but took a lot longer after the patch than originally referenced. ![]() Last edited by Elynole#2906 on Oct 30, 2013, 8:47:07 AM

None of the above options worked for me. Not restarting steam, not restarting my whole machine, not verifying integrity of game cache. It will not auto-download the patch at all, except when it lies to me and makes me watch a progress bar fill up for a few minutes when I hit Play. I even tried turning off auto-download and reactivating it to try and force it to go and see that there was an update to download. Nothing.
After trying all of these things multiple times, I gave up and resorted to the stand-alone client, which worked fine. But, annoying. I'd like to use Steam, but not to waste 20 minutes, and then have to wait for the patch anyway. |
