Help! Unique Weapon Set Ideas and help requested to make it happen (Evil Shit Inside)
" Nice! Dont want to move to far from my main ideas. but yea that could work. I got one of my mates working on some concept art for the weapons. decided to go with the "bone and flesh" weapon idea. made from animal and human remains "Bullshit, you get the game for free." - Qarl 2014

Yeah, sure. When I pitch my ideas, I generally don't expect some diamond supporter to copy them out-right, but I'm hoping one or two of the stats seems interesting/balanced enough it can stick with your original idea.
But basically, if you're going to do 'chaos damage done to you per second' while wielding your weapons, please try to make them not too CI-friendly - like, the major bonus for wielding them is: Life Leech (requiring Ghost Reaver) "While On Low Life" (making CI not get the bonus since it avoids the chaos damage) Blood Magic (CI can't be used) Life Regen (this makes sense if you make the chaos damage flat/sec and make the life regenerated a % of your life) "While Your Energy Shield is Depleted" (making CI not get the bonus except when it only has 1 life left :P) Or the downside it comes with on top of chaos damage is: Reduced Chaos Resistance (would be very scary with CI! lol) Reduced Energy Shield Replenish Speed Reduced Maximum ES % life reserved My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282 Last edited by anubite#0701 on Nov 3, 2012, 12:11:10 PM

" I'm trying to stay away from blood magic for these as I want all class to be able to use them. Maybe get some life leech on em and have the flat -hp per sec 50-100. Maybe a different down side for each weapon. Maybe blood magic for the axe. Chaos eng per sec for the dagger and something else for the bow, maybe - run speed. Things that ill need to decide on. But I want to keep the base states the same. Might take attack speed down a bit. "Bullshit, you get the game for free." - Qarl 2014

We have a lot of mechanics that favor CI, so adding more mechanics that favor non-CI things seems prudent to me.
And I'd say, consider finding a way to keep the attack speed as it is. I think it will be hard to balanced a super fast weapon - but weapons are fun when they're really different. Just make up a bunch of diverse downsides to compensate for the high attack rate. If you feel like toning back on the attack speed, consider releasing a weapon that's super slow - some people will inevitably enjoy a weapon with RIDICULOUS base damage dame but attacks soooo slow. Doedre's Tenure doesn't go far enough, only 40% spell damage? If it reduced cast speed by 100% and made your spells CRAZY fun (like making your fireballs 2 or 3 times larger in size and AOE?) I think a lot more people would use an item like that. My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282 Last edited by anubite#0701 on Nov 3, 2012, 12:35:58 PM

" I was thinking on your anti-ci idea and I got a idea for a down side that would allow for life leech to come in to play and keep the 2.5 attacks. -50% to -75% hp regeneration & -50% to -75% es regeneration. Would make certin build allot harder. Yet with life leech and fast attacks you could potentially generate your own hp if done right. Same for es if ghost reaver was selected. I love writing short stories, especially when they're about evil guys.
Here goes... Everyone who has ever heard about Wraeclast, the cursed land which everyone dreads, has also heard about Maligaro and all of his dark deeds. But what is not known about him, is the fact that he had a brother; a being much more mysterious, but twice as twisted than his brother could have ever dreamt of being. His name was Caecus, and as his name suggests, he was a mysterious guy; mostly kept to his experiments. Maligaro and Caecus were twins, but no one knew their parents. Most chronicles, the ones that were not destroyed, suggest that they had one parent, the mother, a witch. And she took the secret of their birth to the grave. One of Caecus' first successful experiments was to summon, and bind to his own soul, a demonic all seeing eye. For, you see, Caecus was born blind. Ever since his birth, his main goal was to be able to see, and he succeeded. The two brothers usually got along quite well, but when their experiments ere involved they usually kept them secret. They liked competing, and most of the time they'd try and steal each others ideas. Everything went well between them ,until one cursed day. That day Caecus succeeded in creating a perfect human being, and he named him Fidelitas. Everyone knows about Fidelitas and Maligaro, but there's more to the story. Here's how it all came to pass. Once Maligaro set eyes upon his brother's creation, he remained totally enchanted. He fell in love with this perfect being, and stopped at nothing until he, in turn, enchanted Fidelitas. The two became lovers. Caecus, seeing what his brother has done, broke off all relations with Maligaro, and retreated in his secret laboratory, most people today know that place as "The Chamber of Sins". Once there, he started planning his revenge. He could not forgive Maligaro for interfering in his experiments. Fidelitas was more that the creation of Caecus, it was the key to his immortality. And since he did not have enough strength to create another Fidelitas, a process which halves one's life, he decided to use his first creation to destroy his brother. His first step in his revenge was the creation of 3 weapons. The tools of Maligaro's upcoming torment. Caecus was a successful Necromancer and Demonologist, so in the process of creating his cursed weapons he used every available ability he possessed. After summoning scores of demons, and after using the corpse of his own mother as material for the weapons, he finally infused them with a fraction of his soul, leaving enough for him to see his revenge unfold. A bow, an axe, and a dagger, all created form his own mother, and his soul. Why these types of weapons you may ask, all I can say is that it wasn't by chance. His second step was writing a few papers on soul fusion, soul binding, and steps into achieving immortality. After he had finished with those, he was ready to start with the most complicated phase of his plan. He summoned 3 demon apprentices, gave them one of the cursed weapons, and instructions on how to proceed. One of the demons took the axe, and all of Caecus' notes and put them into Maligaro's laboratory. Once maligaro discovered the axe and the notes, he was intrigued, but wary at the same time, he sensed something was not wright. Experiments as these do not appear out of thin air, so he started to study them to see what he could gather from all of this. The second demon took the dagger, and poisoned Maligaro by striking at his heart. Mortally ill Maligaro decided to test the immortality experiment, that just happened to get in his hands. He was suspicious but he had no other choice, with all that dark poison in his heart. He took the cursed axe, and chopped down the strongest wood in Wraeclast, and created the "Spike". Then he started working on a pure virtue gem. Once these were completed he only needed on final device which allowed these creations to transfer his soul into Fidelitas. Everything was perfect, the tools completed the device ready, only thing left was starting the process. Once the process is tarted it cannot be interrupted until the soul is transferred, And Caecus knew this, the trap was flawless. So started the final step in his twisted revenge. Once Maligaro started the soul transfer, the third demon apprentice took the cursed bow, infused 1 arrow with Caecus' soul, and fired it at the virtue gem. Upon striking it, Caecus' soul was transferred into the gem, corrupting it. Maligaro had no way to stop the transfer now, so 3 souls were going to get merged together. Or so it seemed at the time. Fidelitas' body was supposed to be the body of the resulting entity, a and the invading soul was supposed to take over, destroying the host's soul. But with two souls vying for immortality, it wasn't going to be that easy. Once inside Fidelitas, Caecus and Maligaro started fighting for ownership of that body. Caecus won that battle easily, for Maligaro's soul was still poisoned from that cursed daggers stab. Maligaro's soul was expelled and split into two, one part went into the virtue gem, and the other into the "Spike". Today those are called the "Baelful Gem" and "Maligaro's Spike" Caecus took over Fidelitas' body, twisting it, changing it after the image of Caecus' ugly soul. He then retreated back into the Chamber of Sins to resume his experiments, he dwells there to this day, guarding over his brother's soul. the gem and spike. What happened to the three cursed weapons? The Demons took them as reward for their part in the plan. But they did not use them for long. Those weapons eat away at the soul, so the demons died short after form overusing them. Now the weapons lie in wait for other unsuspecting victims, to take way their life force and give it to their master. For this was also part of Caecus' immortality plan. A strong body and endless supply of life force. I know it's not that good, I may have stretched it a bit too much, a bit too repetitive at times, and quite obvious, but it's all I could come up with in a few minute's thought. Hope it's mildly entertaining. Last edited by lupasvasile#5385 on Nov 4, 2012, 7:23:08 AM

Each weapon could make the player cursed:
Bow: Projectile Weakness Dagger: Critical Weakness Axe: Vulnerability Attacks with the weapons would spread the curse around. =) |
