A find a "Workaround", using the Australian gateway you will not go thru this broken seabone, you will have 400 ping but no spikes, no disconnection, no warps and you've almost no problem even with 400 ping.
Yeah. I suggest trying the Singapore server too. I get 500 ping on the australian server but "only" 400 on singapore.
I tried both and I got dced after a while unfortunately.

Doesn't work, at least for me. With all gateways i have the same problem. Yes, ping changes, nothing else. And i have same problem else with OpenVPN (did follow the tutorial).

Drakier, if you knew Italian ISPs situation you wouldn't keep saying stuff like that. There are no real competitors ISPs outside big cities or far from backbone, people willing to spend time and money changing ISP because of this problem may end up using the same lines of Telecom Italia, rented to another company, especially because they're no network experts.
This could not be GGG fault but it must feel strange to have to mess with such technical details just to play a videogame, especially when not everybody is a computer engineer and when other games don't give so many problems.
I'm sorry that Italy ISPs suck. I can't help that. GGG can't help that. It's the nature of being on the internet. You need proper network infrastructure in order to compete these days. If your ISP doesn't have that (and you can't switch to an ISP that does), then there is nothing more I can say than "sorry". You need to put pressure on them to FORCE them to change.
In a lot of places, the infrastructure and general quality improve through competition. Each provider has to constantly be innovating and improving so they can "one up" the competition and get business. In places that have a monopoly or no competition, it can suck. But it's still no one's fault except the ISP. That is my point. This is in no way GGG's fault. They aren't going to move their datacenter. It is a problem with the Italia infrastructure.
GGG is aware of the problem. I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to work with the ISP to try to get a resolution. The end result however is up to the ISP and THEM and only THEM are responsible and to "blame" for this problem. I'm sorry that there isn't a better answer.

It doesn't look like GGG are willing to do anything but tell players to "talk with their ISPs", currently.

That's the normal route users should take to resolve these issues. However, in this case, the information has been passed on to their server/network techs and are being investigated.

Anyway give a call to your ISP pointing out the problem. They probably don't give a fuck about you, but tell me how they are supposed to spot such a minor issue if you just call and say "Dudes, my internet sucks fix it asap kthxbye"
Now you know what you have to tell them, just call your ISP and point them to the problem, as probably that is going to help you more than whining on this forum about something GGG can't really do anything about, except maybe call tech support and (guess what) point them to the problem.
There's no way they can ignore all of us together, cmon.
Bye

I have brought this issue up with Softlayer - they are contacting seabone.net about it (as the packet loss is occuring within their network) and have requested fresh MTRs to confirm the problem is still occuring.
If you are affected by this problem (specifically if your MTR shows you are going through seabone.net) please record a new MTR and post it here along with the time + timezone it was taken, and your public IP (type "what is my ip address" into google if you're unsure). If you do not wish to post your public IP here, you can email the above info to me at support@grindinggear.com

Response from Softlayer:
"Telecom Italia informed us they are performing multiple maintenances in Europe until 04:00 UTC. Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues after 04:30 UTC."
Please provide the info I requested in my previous post after 04:30 UTC if you are still experiencing this problem at that point.

It seems fixed, thanks GGG! :)
