PoE is unplayable from Greece and Italy since it was released due to lag and disconnects.

I can confirm this. I'm playing from Italy. POE was fine before, but for last couple of weeks and especially since release the constant crashes and disconnects are terrible (Steam client and native client alike).
" This, this and this. I constantly see on the forums people complaining about crashes and disconnects, and that's very funny that the response they get is "It's a problem on your end". Well, I'm very sure it is not the case, and otinanai2 specified the reasons pretty well. edit: I still love POE though. :) I hope these problems will disappear with time and less strain on the servers... This is the first time GGG disappointed me with their stance. Every online game in online game history had server problems the first few days (or even longer) after release. There is no shame in admitting it. There is a ton of people with connection problems. Blaming the users' ISPs instead of admitting the increased population is causing server issues is dishonest. I just saw Bob die after logging out with full life. Kripp died 2 times, once to a huge desync (that normally doesn't happen), and once after logging out at 50% life. Add to that Etup's ridiculous desync-rip http://www.twitch.tv/etup/c/3146333. PoE is a great game and we have the patience to wait until the server issues are fixed. D2 had huge server problems for months after release back in 2000 but we were patient because the game was great and we knew we would have fun when the servers were fixed (and we did). /rant over

I have the same problem mostly in the evening Italy

" In some cases there have been server issues, but also in a lot of cases, users have bad ISPs that aren't working properly (and can be shown in the trace). I'm not saying that every user who posts their traces show signs of ISP problems, but it is a lot of them. GGG is looking at every trace submitted and trying to narrow down problems and fix them where they can. There has been an issue already identified between the DC and Atlanta hops as well as in Amsterdam. These were identified because of a lot of traces provided (and they're working on fixing them). I'm not sure what more you want them to do. We ask for the traces so we can establish where problems are. Sometimes they are identifiable as ISP issues, and sometimes not. That's why we look at them. |

Can't play because of lag and crazy desync, 2 weeks ago I played without problem, and any other online game I play is as good as ever, so if it's just my ISP then they just hate PoE lol

I have exactly the same problems as the guys said before...Playing from greece and the lagg is honestly unbearable ever since release let alone disconnects.Ive already died 5 times due to lagg lost 50% exp at lvl84 which is NOT funny and im very frustrated at a point i will soon quit the game. The only playable hours for me on which latency is steady at 100 are like 1:00 am
and after( i mean late at night). Please do something... PS:Mas bghke o poutsos me auto to gamwlagg... |

I wasn't having any issue until reaching Sceptre of the God. The amount of DC's and stuck at loading after the fact has halted my progress. Just a tad ridiculous.
Let me add I'm in the Midwest US. Last edited by Kochise#0931 on Oct 27, 2013, 4:20:05 PM

" Hey. Greek here too. Is Wind your ISP? It seems that mainly Italians and Greeks are having issues. It makes sense since Greek connections go through Italy to reach the PoE servers. Most of the packet loss seems to be happening in Milan. |
