Now that Diablo 3 is dead, will POE deliver?

PoE can't by definition be more of a Diablo game than D3. You don't get to choose what "diablo game" means. " What do you even mean by casual? " Combat is the core of these games. You kill monsters. Mario and WoW has some similar game elements to D3. Mostly WoW though ofc... But Mario is kinda... You run around kill monster and get coins, kinda like in D3. Health globes are also Mario like. In D2 there was more to it. The skilltree, the cool items, the classes were fun, there was much more replay value and just.... wutever. U wont listen to this. If you want a fighter game, Mario is pretty for you u know. |

But you get loot by doing the combat.
The combat is really the core of these games. It's what you end up doing 99% of the time, that's why it's important. Only a complete retard would say that D3 is like WoW. They are worlds apart. I agree that the loot sucks. If I want a ARPG with good combat I now have D3! |

I am sorry but I have to agree with Fireskull that D3 is definitely not a complex game in relation to its previous iterations.
For me, it was the lack of meaningful distribution of attribute points and the really sad skill tree. The loot was mostly boring but it seems its not just Wilson's crew that are having problems making them meaningful (although most other games got it a lot better than D3). You can disagree but having all the skills available to you after a certain point really makes it pointless. You are not tied down and hence not required to put any thought towards your characters stats. The plot has taken several steps backwards. Granted the main lore wasn't anything indepth but it added well to the world and the ultimate goal of the game (D2). In D3 it's more of a children's Christmas special with terrible voice acting. The random quest generation is a neat idea but with so many underwhelming "clear the dungeon" quests with really nothing noteworthy to look for is just meh... there be other gripes too but I tire of writing the same thing almost everyone points out. Bottom line is, if we all played the game with your logic of "take it for what it is" then there wont be a review system and all games would be as bad a it was pre 2005. There is a time and place where you apply that logic this game I don't think deserves that credit. Especially since it was based on a long standing franchise. If it were to be taken as a game of its own class then yeah, sure it wont be as bad. To summarize you can't take all games for what they are. There is a lack of quality and content that was noticeable by large number of people and they have expressed themselves. You can call it entitlement but then isn't what the economy in the US is built on? Its like saying a person accusing a shady business man of fraudulent practices is nothing but an entitled brat... Point is you can like the game if you want but please don't use the Jay Wilson tactic and say "you don't like it because you are not playing it right". The point of a game is to be entertaining regardless of what perspective one may have of it. This one doesn't only the few worshippers like you seem to cling on to this bare excuse for validity. "How would you like it if I snuck into your country and did this job over there... and not cash in any of your friggin checks?!! You WONT!! Because you will be right here!!" - Master Shake.

When i played D3 i also felt that THIS IS DIABLO 3... Then once i heard about PoE i was like.... This game is sooo much more like Diablo. This is also fact since PoE is based mostly on D1 and D2. Then i just realized that... We are in 2012... And D3 was shit. I fellt stupid and nooby for enjoying the casual game that is D3... along with the Auction house that i regret ever using. (Gold only ofc, but still.) I will NEVER EVER play a game as nooby again. NEVER. But i quess i was a fucking stupid noob back when i actually kinda liked D3. The game was a scam in many ways. Its not a Diablo game. Dont you understand that there are reasons to hate on D3? It is not just me who hates D3 u know. |
