Using something like LMP + Chain + Power charge on Crit + Faster cast +..?

I can afford a 6link but do not find anything with that type of build.

Haven't seen a selfcast ice spear guide up to now, but it should work with the same tree as freezing pulse builds that use power charges. With chain be prepared for some pretty high mana costs (go life + Eldritch Battery) and low damage per target.
+..? = cold penetration

I thought crit damage could have been an option over cold penetration but you are right.
