Quake.
I do not profess to know exactly why it holds that place in my heart. I simply feel at peace when I play it. It somehow is 'gaming' in its rawest, most primal form for me. I also dig its atmosphere. NIN, dark, Gothic and medieval castles, rust, decay. I love every single bit and pixel of it. It was also my first 'real' game, and it influenced much in my life. I think Quake is the reason I listen to Metal, and that I enjoy the sublime beauty of decrepit ruins more than any sunset. One day, I will build my house of rust. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.

I've been gaming since the C64 and Amiga days. Since this is about PC gaming however, I will answer as best I can by breakiing my PC choices into genres. Yes, it will be a TL;DR lol (Note: Path of Exile is not on the list because it is a Beta, but, it seems to me that it could be one of the greatest ARPGs ever released)!
Space combat simulation (first person): Freespace I and II Sports simulation: Toss up between Baseball Mogul 2013 and Out of the Park Baseball 2013 "Other" simulation games: Sim City 4 Deluxe Space 4x real time: Sins of a Solar Empire Space 4x turn based: Master of Orion II (honorable mention to the GalCiv II series) Fantasy 4x: Age of Wonders Shadow Magic with HOMM III a VERY close second Hybrid RPG: Neverwinter Nights I Traditional RPG: Planescape Torment Action RPG: Torchlight II followed closely by the first Diablo Tactical game: Star Trek Starfleet Command "Other" RTS: Total Annihilation Wargame: Medieval Total War II Guilty pleasure game: Spore FPS: Hmmm. not a huge fan of these at all really. Maybe I need ginger pills to stop the nausea lol ----- My all time favorite computer game (ANY OS): The Amiga version of Frontier First Encounters |

Warcraft 3 is my all time favourite game... I loved that game. It was the real Warcraft game, way better than WoW. For it's the beat RTS game, I played a lot with my friends, and we have made so many mods... It was fantastic.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I cannot tell you how many hours I spend mod shopping for that game. Haha. xD
I enjoyed Dragon Age: Origins a lot too. :) |
