Your "All Time" Favourite PC game?
Starcraft.
+1 for the Monkey Island series. Special mention for 1. Counter-strike (from waaay back before they gave CTs shields) for most money wasted in LAN cafes with friends. 2. Grim Fadango for being the only game to literally have me ROFL. The part in the forest where Glottis rips out and gets his heart back again. 3. D1, which is the reason why I'm on this forum in the first place. Basics of how to play (by Malice): tinyurl.com/72wrafn

All time, I can remember Impossible Creatures taking up a lot of night-time sleep just working out creature builds.
Special mentions gotta go out to Borderlands, for being just some of the most fun I ever had with an FPS. HeXen : Beyond Heretic deserves a mention here too because hot damn, I just loved it. Love love loved it. Except for the bats. But trumping them all, I gotta put Dwarf Fortress for stealing away so much of my time with modding, adventuring, cruelty, violence, and bulding. bay12 play dwarf fortess erryday "Yes, mother ****ing walruses stormed in through my well room, fatally gored my expedition leader, and danced off into the frosty tundra to sing happy walrus songs about oysters." - veok

What a good question...
I started with Warcraft: Orcs And Humans when I was about 6 years old(I'm almost 24 now) and shortly thereafter, moved to Warcraft II. I have played Warcraft II off and on all of these years and I still play it on War2.RU server. I have had brief stints on Starcraft, Warcraft III, Command & Conquer, and I've played Diablo and Diablo II on and off for years, but never have I played another game as religiously as Warcraft II. I have to give Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness(Beyond the Dark Portal and Battle.net Edition as well) a hands down 10/10. I have been playing this game for 18+ years and I still log on once a month to say hello to all of my old friends that still play it. If it weren't for the gradual reduction of the community I would still be playing it fiercely and competitively. All in all its still a great game. WARCRAFT MADE THE GAMING COMMUNITY WHAT IT IS TODAY. Just my opinion. |

For online MMORPGs I've only ever fallen in love with two.
The first being PristonTale (not PT2 which came out more recently). That was the first MMORPG I not only played but enjoyed- I would run around and shoot spells at my friends and we would just have a rather jolly time (so sad, I know). I remember this one time we figured out how to bug out of the map and would run around shooting spells from underneath people! The only reason I stopped playing that game was because at level 30 it became p2p and I was too young to afford such things :P The second game was DarkEden (isometric game that allowed players to either be a vampire or a slayer and they would have both inter-species pvp as well as intra-species pvp). I loved the idea of working together to take down a vampire or slowly poisoning a pathetic slayer while you were hidden in the shadows or underground. I didn't really have friends in this game but I just loved the huge variation of skills (although vampires had some seriously overpowered spells- there was one that let you paralyse someone for up to 1.5 minutes!) eurgh I've just rambled on haha- sorry guys ^;^ |

Not sure what my favorite PC game of all time is, as there are quite a few I really love. But if I were to name but a few in random order:
- Freedom Force. Not sure why the sequel sucked so bad, but the first one was awesome. We're talking creating your own comic book superhero squad and fighting all sorts of superhero stuff, from giant aliens to dinosaurs to aliens to who knows what. Awesome. - Syndicate. Again, not sure why the sequel sucked, but nevermind that. Syndicate was pure awesomeness, back in those days when ultraviolence was still cool, and gamers weren't bad for you. Favorite moment? Huge pack of pedestrians. One agent. One rocket launcher. *grins* - UFO: Enemy Unknown. Or XCom: Enemy Unknown for you Americans. I really shouldn't have to say much about it, other than X-Com: Terror from the deep was somehow even better in most ways. Even the modern XCom is awesome, and that says a lot about the originals. - Civilization. They've gotten more technically advanced over the years, but nothing beats sitting down with your very first Civ-game. Just remember to station the soldiers inside the city, not around it. *blush* - Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis. Quote PC Gamer: "There still is no fourth movie, but with a game like this, we don't need one." So true. - Lord of the Rings Online. Only MMO that had me playing more than six months, and I played it two years. One of the best games ever made. Then we got the Mines of Moria expansion. "And that's how you die properly, sailor boy." All-time?!? I'm not dead yet.
But my most memorable would be Ultima IV on the Apple IIe. With notebook at hand, I visited every town and recorded every conversation, following up on every keyword and then... That was it. I had visited everywhere and recorded everything but what then? What was I missing? As I walked through another town and stopped at an Inn I noticed that one block on the wall seemed odd. One pixel extra was lit up... |

" 4 years off and on - Brandywine Server :P Was apart of Epoch guild during OB and through the first 4 months or so(long enough for Helegrod to come out and us clear it) Apart of FATE guild all the way up to the beginning of MoM. and finally apart of Rampage guild, helped the initial push for tater farming to get The Watcher unlocked first on Brandywine, World First kill on The Watcher 2.0 and clearing of BG(was it BG? can't remember). Around the time Rampage split was when I left. Oh well, very fond memories of that game. Especially PvP wise. Last edited by Elynole#2906 on Oct 29, 2012, 10:10:15 PM

Must say i am truly enjoying Dark Souls PTDE on PC. The fully integrated PvP and P+PvE is rockin!
If FROM released Demon Souls on PC as well, i would not return to PoE for at least another year, but thanks to all the bitchin poofters in the PC community this probably won't happen...... so it looks like you're stuck with me. Bring me my bow of burning gold
