Lets bump PoE on Metacritic
" I am so glad I watched Kripp stream the alpha tree the night before release. I saw how bad the developers gutted the passive tree, and I made up my mind right there it wasn't going to be worth it to buy any supporter pack. At best this game might be playable again in 4 months. |

I'd probably be in mind to not bother going to Metacritic.. I really want to like PoE, would really love to get everyone I know here, but, what do I rate it on? It's potential? or my own experience? THAT is the question.
My own experience is simply, enjoyed playing beta, release came with scathing new passive wipe / modifications, after doing my best to recreate my much loved (mana regen aura only) build, that failed hard. All talents wasted, dead level 68 character. tried a U-turn with my other 63 witch, and that failed hard as well.. it seems to me like the nerfbat was hellava lot stronger than the mob difficulty - hence my only two >60 witches died over night. All that game time wasted, and i have pleaded with GGG to allow another passive reset for me to now copy someone elses build so that I dont get punished for trying to build my own again.. What do I rate it based upon then? My own experience, OR, it's potential? |

You people... and your butt-hurtedness.
I'm giving it a 10/10. Why? Because everything I care about is great. The lore, graphics, story, and the like are all superb. The gameplay is fun, challenging, and changed every 4 months. Not to mention the developers care. That is so rare. Everyone complaining in this thread is complaining about gameplay changes. ... Why? It's an ARPG with a ladder system. It changes every 4 months. You don't like it this time, wait 4 months you'll probably like it again. I know that's a long time, but my point is: Don't give it a shit rating because you don't like the current state it's in. Give it a rating based off it's overall performance (i.e. how good the gameplay has been, how the devs have listened, the quality of the game itself, etc). You are giving it a rating that is judging it's whole existence. Don't base that rating off of a recent change, but off of your experience with the game since you started playing. Have things improved? Hell yes they have. Could they improve more? Sure. Will they? Based on GGG's track record, yes they most certainly will. Give it time and see what happens. You might be surprised by what all these changes really mean for the game. I'm rating it based both on my own experiences and it's future potential. Because both of those things rate it very highly. ^ Again, you are another player with 20 characters, and not one of them over level 20. That's fine if you want to play it that way, but getting to level 20 in any league (even in onslaught) is a bit of a laugh that doesn't require anything above a blue item. Nothing you have could/would have been touched by any of these changes, where as a level 80+ character just got destroyed to the point that a wipe would have actually gone down much easier for most of us. I'm not insulting how you play in anyway, I'm just trying to explain to you the huge dichotomy in the way we think.

" Sadly I'm with you here. Not just one, but two different builds I tried to create with two different >60 witches - both builds are stunningly inadequate for any merciless area. My 68 had just defeated Piety before release, then immediately after release she is a dead character. My first build attempt was utterly inadequate, and is not not usable - i'm unable to re do the passives. I'm passed QQing as i think the correct term is.. but perplexed how unforgiving GGG are to folks like me that need to try again to get a build that is 'compatible' with their new "way of thinking".. Can't just make a change like this without allowing some flexibility to try new builds out in the flesh, rather than theorycraft and hope for the best. I hoped for the best and like many gambles, it failed, and I'm left with disappointment and two wasted characters. Something isn't right. Either the balance of Merciless is utterly out of whack, or these passives are utterly insignificant to the level presented at Merciless. Either way, "butt-hurt" and other childish comments are entertainingly narrow minded. I'm interested to see if GGG are ever going to respond to feedback of this type and fix it, before people like me run out of patience and will to live. |

QQ = skill lvl it seems so pretty easy to see who is bad at this game |

Before 1.0 I'd probably give the game a 9/10, but after the horrible nerfs in 1.0 I dunno, maybe a 6/10, game is still good, but the nerfing is just ridiculous.

" yes because fixing stuff in beta, that you don't agree with deserve a bad review at release. Please for the of god never become a game critic becuase holy hell man |

" I had a lvl 80 BM duelist that DID run anger/wrath/grace, it got fucked over. But guess what? Who gives a fuck? I don't. The entire point of the game is to make new characters and try new stuff out, and with the new 4 month leagues there is no reason not to, they are the superior version of the game. |
