Best way to use mind over matter?

Does mind over matter works with ES or only with life? For example, what if you are CI ?

Because explanation says: "When hit 30% of damage is taken from mana before life"

If I were using CI, I would certainly hope it takes from ES before life :p
I cant remember where it was posted but I am pretty sure that Mark has posted saying that the damage is removed from energy shield before mana, which makes it have no use with CI. I will try and find the post

If you are CI and not take EB, then you will have mana issues as your mana will be quite low after auras.

You could get about 1100-1200 mana with really good gear and +mana% gear and nodes, but that won't be enough with aura and also spell casting high mana spells like discharge/EK etc.

So EB is just so good with MOM.

Bingo, CI doesn't really work with MoM...

It's good but really needs some math to do before you take it or you will end up with no mana for skills and bye.

I think there are few variations to use it, but I will tell about my thoughts.

Get both mana leech and life leech. Your mana to life ratio should be at least 3:7. So if you have 5000 life you should have at least 2150 mana (need EB). This ratio should be higher coz you need mana for skills, so 1:2 would be perfect. This way your survivability benefit from both life and mana leech. Also if you have 5000 life and 2500 mana, in fact you have 7150life.

The balance is they key, if your mana is too low, and you have no mana leech this keynode will kill you.

EDIT: Corrected some math :p.

Yeah that's exactly right.

In fact mana requirement is higher than that to take account of mana being reserved for aura.

I think this keystone is underwhelming. There's too much mana regen required to keep up with monster damage. In my opinion, you'd need at least 250 mana regen before you could even consider getting this keystone, which is too much of an investment for not enough reward. On the Scion (which has the best mana regen access by far), 250 mana regen + MoM would be a ~20 passive point investment and you'd still need to prioritize mana regen on all your items. Meanwhile Acrobatics is 40% dodge, 30% spell dodge, and it's a hop skip and a step away.

The other advantage of course, that Acrobatics lacks, is having an insane mana pool for spells. But spells don't need a heavy mana investment to be spammable late game. It's overkill. And it's not like you can stack multiple Auras, you need your mana pool intact for the reduction to take effect. But hey, you could rock the Arctic Armor at least! lol...
the only thing i'm interested in is whether damage over time or only separate hits are taken from mana..
