I'm so Glad that I declined...

Never had problems playing solo. Going to download this update in 6 hours and play that scion.. I really want to give her a staff. Just to throw it out there.. If I had more money I would definitely invest in PoE. Rather than make the game super easy fun time for the kiddies they make a challenging game with many forms of content. However I did try to play in a party but it still seems I have trouble loading when I do that. Either way nice game.

I want those quitters items still.....

Can I have your payment plan, OP? :D No? Oh well..

I encourage you to reconsider. You can always cancel in 1 month and convert w/e payments you've made directly to points packs, but you can never again start another payment plan after today. Edit: Or, you may be able to defer the first month's payment. Support here is pretty fucking awesome at working out what's best for you.

You may turn out to love 1.0 and regret this decision ;)

I dont actually agree with some of that(I enjoy playing solo, I find its generally more challenging than steamrolling in groups for one thing) but you made fair points there.

Much better than just asking if I liked anything about the game.

That said, groups get auras, and things like conduit already to increase the power of their farming. More auras and more charges increase the capabilities of the entire group, and even with the HP buff its still less than 100% mob hp per player(I think)

Basically, you believe the negatives to group play require a buff to loot in groups to make it worthwhile, and I think that the buffs to survivability and clear speed make group play powerful enough to not need that buff to loot.

Actually, to a large degree, I play solo. I did it (mostly) in the turbo week race as Ice Shot and came 32nd (42nd including deaths).

Now in respect to auras, a lot of people ran grace and determination before (with IR) but now it is more likely that one of these auras is sufficient. The same goes for elemental damage auras. Haste and purity were never a neccessity; purity was generally used by people running andivarus (which is technically nerfed a tiny bit because of this) or speccing too much damage on their gear or not having enough resists. Haste was always a luxury. Vitality and determination lastly, were very strong and are even stronger now - deserving of the increased reservation cost. And clarity is not 60%, which is, because GGG have balanced this correctly.

For instance my EK runs the following auras: Hatred, purity, vitality and grace. At no point did I want purity, but I clobbered together some gear for my old OS character after giving it away when I died. Really I wanted to replace that with determination. But, I didn't suffer for no determination. I ran a double boss vulnreability maze map (Vaal Overseer boss) this morning with no problems. So now with balance changes I would run: Determination, Hatred and Purity. I would spec maybe an extra mana reservation node to achieve this and drop some life nodes of which I have many (5676hp not op gear). This means, I can effectively still run solo, with potentially more damage and maybe even more hp. That makes solo stronger in my eyes.

What would be the point lastly, in playing in a group with no buffs to rarity? I think it is a considered feature by GGG and whether I solo or not, it doesn't make the hugest difference, having quantity in the group. As quantity is seen as more effective than rarity, then it will become even less of a buff to previously. Therefore, the balance has been shifted towards solo play, whilst improving base drop rate of orbs and gems.

Some people, like to make specific builds, like conduit/aura builds/curse builds for group play, because they enjoy group play. Hope this is a more fulfilling and indicative answer for you.

Same problem ... looking at that upgrade button half my work time today .... at least to exalt. Weapon glow and the "pet upgrade", some more points to spend on stash tabs and so on. Time to upgrade - but supporting a company that obviously dont want me as a customer?

Patch notes
Extremly anti solo play. No change to endgame content that i will never be able to play (maps should be hard, not rare!).

Inc gamer interview
"WE want, We, We, We" .... not: our gamers/customers want. Holy shit every other company would get flamed to death for that arrogance. No one in economy cares what a company wants - its all about what customers want. And still: Trade, Economy all the way (i do that every day at work with real money, no need to do it in my sparetime ...)

Are you out of your mind?? I rarely see a company that communicates with community as much as GGG. They are listening to a lot of suggestions coming from players, and a lot of them are being implemented in the game.
The guys from GGG have worked 7 years on this game. They made a game they are passionate about, a game they would love to play. Path of Exile is their baby, and you really think they would just throw that away by doing some stupid decisions? Start having some faith in GGG, they know where they want to go. You and me, we are just players. We get to play the game and enjoy it, but we really aren't entitled to anything. And that's how it is supposed to be. But still GGG listens to us a lot.
Frankly, I find your comment to be very arrogant and disrespectful.

One aura might be sufficient, but 8 is going to be insane - and only groups are getting that many.

Why does it matter, if you can play the game you want to play? Why be so concerned with what everyone else is doing? I find it unlikely that groups would run 8 auras, unless different build requirements really sufficed for them, mainly, several of those auras would be irrelevant. If three archers are running different elemental damage auras and are working in tandem, then that is a skill in itself and involces co-operation and co-ordination, so to me your point here is mute.

I feel you... I almost decided to go for the $12,500.00 pack, but I decided to give it a test run first
I almost decided to donate $250,000 to GGG, but that was before I saw the patch notes. When I saw the balance changes I recoiled in disgust and literally vomited in my mouth. It was just enough vomit to make me think I could swallow it without attracting attention to myself, but some of the puke seeped out of the corner of my mouth and landed on my shirt. I unfortunately caught the attention of my coworker and we maintained eye contact while I swallowed the rest of the vomit that was in my mouth. That shit burned going down my throat and I was unable to mask the discomfort. There was no mistaking it, my coworker knew exactly what I had just done -- swallowed my own vomit.

Thanks a lot GGG

10/10
what really i can't understand is the fact that playing as a solo will hardly ever get me to the endgame maps (lvl 77/78 ones). that's because of how hard they are to beat and of how hard is for a solo player to reach to that map level while keeping a decent pool of endgame maps, plus the cost to roll them.
because of that atm many solo's prefer to build mf characters and farm lunaris to be able, at least, to gain access to 99% of the endgame uniques, so this way it is possible to gain some currencies to buy endgame maps. i can't really think of another way to get there otherwise for a solo player.
but with the new patch (top end uniques gated to endgame maps) and with the iir/iiq change, how am i supposed to ever get there.
i know what the difference between playing solo or in a group is, and there is no comparison at all, even with the 50% buff to mobs hp.

too many ppl complain for too many stupid things (auras, legacy items, builds nerfed to the ground), but to me the real deal is the fact that, as a solo, i'm forced to buy the items i need from top players now, at who know what crazy price.
I play solo, and will continue to all the way through maps as I have done for the past year. This patch changes nothing. Adapt.
