Very very few botters are running around in HC. In standard the botters are like little cockroaches everywhere.

Its amazing that my characters don't show up on PoE stats. I want it to stay that way forever.

I play Hardcore exclusively, have since Diablo II 1.09.

I don't think Softcore is Scrubcore, but it loses the excitement for me somewhat.

The fact that 10x the players, or more, play Standard is a strong reason I've considered switching.

The fact that the economy on Hardcore is totally jacked means I'd like to play on a new league.

If you don't use every available resource, including Escape + Logout, you aren't any better than I am. Hardcore is Hardcore. If I was a real exile and my only chance of survival was kicking sand in some jerk's eyes, you can bet I'd sand-attack him AND kick him in the nuts. Anything goes. I think hitting Escape and logging out is a skill. I've seen a lot of people fail and die trying to logout. No sense in hating on it, it is a skill we can all use. If I choose not to wear a helmet and go man mode, great, but attacking you for wearing one isn't right.

If there was a SFL, I'd probably try it out. If I couldn't trade items to my friends, I'd probably quit.

Even so, I feel that too much emphasis is placed on the integrity of the "market," there shouldn't be a market. Just people slaying monsters, defeating bosses, and sharing the spoils, or bartering them for other spoils. No high-level market manipulation, no informed flipping, etc. That crap is the cancer that is causing a lot of grief for normal players. It is also the reason GGG has been so reluctant to properly balance items. With people so entrenched in Wallstreet GGG fears what will happen if they drop 1 hp off Kaom's and make it retroactive - "OMG I SPENT ALL MONTH FLIPPING ITEMS AND RIPPING OFF NOOBS AND NOW MY ITEM GOT NERFED! I AM SUING!"

On another note, one of the best things about SFL would be there would be absolutely no cross league/rmt trading going on so you would know noone you play with is cheating scum.

Ahh I see, so....

Actually playing SF, isn't the focus in your opinion. It is to buff drop rates so you can "craft", aka get good gear "easier". Amirite?

Also, even if they "buffed" crafting or even drop rates, I sincerely doubt it would be a huge impact. Clearly, crafting is not crafting it is gambling.

You cannot make a specific item, you merely "roll the dice" and hope for a good item.

I have no idea why anyone calls it crafting, it is a risk, it is a currency sink.

It is working as intended.

You are correct, my beef isn't with people who honestly want to play "self found", my beef is with people who use the "self found" banner in some wishful thinking that somehow, the drop rates will be buffed so well, that they will be showered with bis gear and orbs daily.

In fairness, I am probably the closest to "self found" in this thread.

I have only traded maybe......4 times. I played solo on Onslaught and now am playing solo on Hardcore and will be playing solo in the new leagues.

Yet, you don't see me throwing a hissy fit because i want gg gears in 10 minutes.

My beef isn't with people who "really want to play SF". However, these people are few and far between, the majority of the "self found crew" believe that somehow crafting and gear drops are going to be 100x easier in a SFL league. They are horribly mistaken.
