Account Banned W/O Any Explanation
" I think the "lucky" part is being misattributed. Either way, sorry it happened, but it should hopefully get resolved soon. As for the hacking/exploits.. it's not so much that PoE itself has exploits or hacks as much as there are people using bots and things in-game and trying to make real life money off the virtual goods (which is explicitly against the game rules). These bots can cause a lot of damage to the in-game economy. It can cause massive amounts of inflation and other problems. Look at what happened with Gold farming in Diablo 3. Totally destroyed the economy for anyone who didn't want to "buy" gold, or didn't have a bot of their own. If you played casually, you could never afford good items without "paying" for them by purchasing gold. And now Blizzard is trying to remove the AH and do other things to get rid of the gold from the economy (way too late). GGG is being proactive in trying to protect their game, and the economy. They are actively seeking out and banning bots and other people who can negatively affect the game. Good for them. Again, sorry some innocent people get caught. It's the unfortunate nature of the problem. As for your aversion to blanket banning, what do you recommend instead? How would you recommend keeping some botters out of the game if they keep creating many random accounts, and changing their dynamic IPs all the time? How do you suggest they eliminate these bots without further affecting normal players? No matter what you do, someone will be affected negatively. The goal is to minimize that negative effect on "collateral damage". If they make stuff in the game that makes it harder to create accounts, that will deter new players from joining. It's hard to negatively impact bots while not negatively impacting real life players. It's the nature of the beast. You might not like it, but there are very few other options. |

I'm not that bullheaded to not understand the issue to certain degree. It's just that blanket IP bans is more of an easy way out solution that's not that hard to bypass if the hacker in question had the mind to do so that leaves innocent bystanders caught in the act.
I'm no expert but i'm aware of some alternative methods that are employed to work out more permanent solution but they are more time-consuming = more money which is still breachable but not as easily. Then there's a methods of gameguard programs that many korean MMO employ to prevent botting, though it's not foolproof as well I'm just not too fond of blanket IP bans because they do not consider any innocent players into the account for an easy solution that won't really stop the problem. Honestly, wish I knew the answer to preventing retards from messing up games, but unfortunately I don't. I just dislike blanket IP bans. I've served in the military and know plenty about collateral damage doesn't mean that I have to like it or agree to it. I don't agree with Shoot First Apologize Later mentality Anyway, point of this thread was because of disappointment in their lack of communication and show of inconsideration in this ban. Well 8 hours have passed since the ban and e-mail sent doesn't look like lift isn't going to happen anytime imminent.
Kinda irritating that this happened while I'm in the process of selling gears to get ready for new league but what it is is what it is. All I know is I'm seriously going to be upset if this doesn't get lifted before launch |

if you use Multibox with "program" is bannable - and lately it seem alot of people increase to use this option because they dont want to lvl up with people, but with themself. (sad to see its after all an online arpg where we players should play together not use 8 accounts at same time and play to get advantage.
if you buy/sell items via sites example this site with forum gold is bannable if you use bot is bannable meet to many people who says they arnt doing this when it happends (when they get banned), but Before it happend they can talk openly in either pm or forum that they "trying/using" or whatever they doing. I dont telling your using any of this, hopefully it will be solved but somehow i feel you should Think twice if you did any of this. " And how exactly were you doing trades? Some methods are bannable offenses. |

Had to make another account because for some reason one I've registered earlier isn't getting the verification e-mail maybe domain issue
" This is actually the first time hearing multiboxing isn't allowed since I've heard that GGG was lenient about it. In any case, no I don't multibox and prior to this incident I only had 1 account " Maybe I'm misunderstanding something or the sentence was poorly written but are saying it was bannable offense by using Path of Exile official forum threads to sell/trade items? Because that is the only website I've used for trading " And people should damn well be banned if they are botting. I've seen plenty of people in the past, not this game yet, who openly boasts about botting in my gaming experience so I agree with what you say and most of them don't even get bothered about bans and whatnot as the "pro" hacker/farmer/botters always have contingency plans lined up to continue their business since they expect some sort of ban to occur occasionally. It's only those novice ones that cries when they get banned. At least that's what I've noticed from experienced. If any case everything I've used and done so far has been limited to tools provided by the official homepage - trading, playing the game, passive tree planner And couple external tools from poe-tools.com - skill planner, dps calculator, mods compendium And Path of Exile wiki for information If you're trying to tell me that any of these are bannable offense then well hell I don't even know what to say but I won't do it again while feeling pretty ridiculous if that was indeed the case " Using the forum Using the trade chat Is that bannanble offense? "Say thank-you for the ban. Then move on. You'll find other games get much more enjoyable. |

" From looking at your post history, yes. You didn't follow the rules. |

" I'm sorry care to explain in detail? Because I have no clue what you are talking about EDIT: As stupid as I am for actually taking someone posting a one liner without ANY explanation or evidence, even though I knew I haven't broken any rules or partook in any activity that may result in a ban, I looked into the policies again " A) Nope B) Nope C) Nope. Only thing that REMOTELY comes close to this was when I posted in a thread that I firmly believed was a person trying to scam somebody and logically listed reasons why I thought it was a scam in neutral manner only with facts. The post was removed by administrator presumably by thread creator's request and the sale "magically" ended within minutes with sketchy original c/o bidder whom the seller refused to validate. Even so, this is not a account ban activity. As a matter of fact, I didn't even receive posting probation. D) Nope E) Nope F) Nope Funny thing is this isn't even necessary to even look into as in punishment for the listed rules, irregardless of the facts that I've followed, is probation of posting from forums, not account/IP ban. Not to mention the fact that I shouldn't even be able to post in forums on my alternate account which I am currently doing as well. Now onto Trading Forum Rules " I have never done RMT nor used/linked any external websites for trading. I have never abused self-promotion. So enlighten me really tell me what I'm missing Last edited by kurayukiMK2#7352 on Oct 22, 2013, 1:43:30 AM

he probably refers to your "dev-deleted" posts .
but that's probably not the reason. i can imagine ggg-support being pretty busy at the moment with last minute sales of supporter packs. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
