Is Desync going to be the game killer?

Why can't we all just think alike? xD
nah, if it was that big of an issue for the majority of players the game would never have made it this far to begin with.
GGG underestimate the issue, but according to the ppl i know, 5/10 of them left the game ONLY because of the desynk.

They DO like the game, but that desinking is irritating them too much.

GGG should focus ON that problem ONLY for now, instead some small bugs..
Yes.
Long answer: Ofcourse.
IGN: Smegacore
i have no intentions to stop playing for years to come just because i die to a desync here and there i just decided not to play the hardcore leagues alltho i would love to do that.

im sure with the playerbase and funding they are getting as of now it wil be fixed down the line. but its probably hard as i understand its because

the game is server side or whatever instead of being client based.

wich has its up and downs its deff harder to hack the game and make duped items and such wich im sure we are glad isnt possible :)

so im fine with the way they do it and progress it :)

not a game killer in my eyes :)

You need to quit doing that.

The problem is that we as players of a game we have paid to support should not have to deal with this issue. Yes, rubber banding is endemic to all ARPGs, but it SHOULDN'T be. GGG is not a company large enough to magically fix prediction issues that have plagued every online game since their inception. If they do, they deserve the gaming equivalent of a nobel prize. But they won't. There is nothing wrong with his argument, it's just poorly stated.

Of course we're still stuck with the problem of either not buying games that have these issues to show our disapproval of desync and hoping "someone" fixes it, or keeping our money in our wallets and risking the genre dying which would suck giant donkey butt.

For the record, this is as cool-headed as I can be about this issue. I have lost 5, I repeat FIVE, characters to desync in the last 5, I repeat FIVE, days. I would be lying if I said I didn't scream my goddamn lungs out after dying so much. It is the most frustrating nonsense on the planet to deal with.

Please GGG, earn that nobel prize and I'll do very sexual things to you, or just throw money at you. Thanks.
Desync is definitely PoE's biggest issue. Many of my friends don't care to come back when the game is released since to them fixing desync is much more important than adding features.

Most annoying desynch I had was in Lunaris, those Rightous Fire guys lit up somewhere (which did not show on my screen), I thought running away would be faster than enter+/oos+enter. But even though I ran for almost 2 rooms, I still died to Rightous Fire from a mob that does not show on my screen.

Desynch happens, best thing to do is make peace with it and stay away from hardcore leagues, because if that happened to me in HC I would absolutely rage quit (and probably smash my keyboard :] )

No. You weren't running away. You thought you were. The client thought you were. The real game being played thought differently. You never ran for almost two rooms. Quit thinking that you're playing the game on your client and start understanding what's actually happening.

Watch TheAnuhart video in his thread and explain that to me.

Please quite so me and my friends who don't got desync issues don't have to read you crappy over sensational post on the forum.

And considering most of you whiny losers who cant afford a prober internet connection or a PC that's not over 5 years old haven't supported the game I don't think its a big deal if you do
You can't watch a video of this game. You can only watch what a client is trying to tell someone about their game. There is no video on the server where your game is actually playing out. Watching a video is the heart of the problem. You think you're watching someone play the game. You're not.

People experience desync to different degrees. If you're 1000+ miles from the server, you'll be affected more than someone who is a couple blocks from it. Light can only travel so fast. It actually takes light about 1/10 second to travel around the world. We're never going to fix that.
