So after playing diablo 3, despite its many flaws, I think its definitly the better game
D3's target audiences are less intelligent than average people and kids.
Perhaps you are one of them. You won't have my gear.

" Wow! That's a horrible attitude to have as a moderator. You are supposed to oversee (!) threads - not stomp on them. Move the thread if you feel it is needed. @OP: You have some valid points. Desync is horrible and it is killing a huge part of the fun. But being bound by certain actions (choices in bandit quests and the passive tree) makes me at least enjoy the game more than I ever did Diablo 3. I have two characters in Diablo 3 and I never felt any need to create another one. I think I have 16 characters in this game and I'm probably never going to use any of them again, as I have around 4 new builds I would like to try out in the incoming release. |

I like PoE. I also can't disagree with the poster. For those willing and able to read it all and aren't trolls, you will see that the game systems get old and easy to be calculated.
Most games are like that; you get to a point where there's nothing to learn. Updates help, but only so long. There are certainly flaws, like how the strongest builds only use 1-2 skills and many auras. That's due to the way sockets work and that only chest or 2H weapons can have 5L or 6L for your primary skill. The aura changes may make that better. D3 gets old and boring when you get the classes to max level and realize there's nothing to do other than get items with more of your primary attribute or vitality. Here's the trick to PoE: don't keep playing the same character. Have fun getting a build to work and then eventually move on. Don't just play what others have posted as the best build. Don't learn too much, because you will remove the mystery of the game... which is the fun. However, in case a dev sees this, mystery about MF diminished returns is not fun. |

I kinda agree with the OP. I have no harsh feelings with PoE but I have valid expectations, that the expension of D3 IS GOING to beat PoE.
When I look at PoE release, I dont see features which excite me, however, the D3XP seems to have changes which REALLY change the shape of the game(removal of AH, smart drops and so on) The main problem I see with PoE is that it is already hindered by the community who does not allow bigger changes. And even if they do, GGG will probably not question the core game mechanics. And this is what will eventually kill the fun for me: There are several mechanics, which are (in my opinion) flawed and its VERY UNLIKELY that they will change. Things like this are: -Mana reservation of Auras -skillgem leveling and weird interference with XP progress -random based crafting system -extremly steep leveling curve for new character(counter productive in a game where you have so many builds) -neglecting the singleplayer aspect -integrety of the standardleague (legacy items!) and so on. Small things which add up. In my opinion GGG has a game design philosophy which does not fit into my exspectation in many aspects. Diablo 3 had MANY HEAVY FLAWS but there is hope for so many and groundshaking improvements. Oh, I forgot to quote something: " And sadly thats true. PoE seems to be very complex, but the freedome of choice is not as wide as it seems because so many decisions come down to the same point. PS.: Btw, the forum culture is also pissing me off. You cant complain a valid point to get answers like " I absolutly despise such people! |

" Moderator is only a title. They lost all functionality when GGG staff took over the moderation of the forum. And even if that weren't the case, since when do Moderators have to be unbiased. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

" I wish I could fast forward to next year. Then we could stop with these "D3 expansion is going to kill PoE" threads and start with "told you, PoE is still better than D3" threads. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

In the end, everything is moot since you don't have to be forced to play one or the other. You know what the great thing is about not living in a ditch? You can choose to play whatever game you choose!

Neither is better than the other.
D3 has many issues, but PoE has them as well. There needs to be some serious work done if this game hopes to survive. There may be an influx of players come launch but if the glaring endgame/server related issues aren't addressed.. well then, so long PoE |
