WHY DON'T YOU LIKE TO TRADE?
" I didn't disagree, I am sure this will make you a trading expert in no time at all. The problem is, I don't want to be a trading expert. I just want to buy an item here or there, once maybe every other month. I also don't want to waste my hard-earned exalts by being ripped off by a "trader". Both things are unappealing. Again I say, if you are selling something, it's on YOU to put the price tag down, and haggling can occur from there. A comprehensive, easy on the eyes loot filter:

The people that don't like to trade often tend to be the same people that prefer to play solo.
They're most likely anti-social. I pray for their social skills. ॐ "Metal Gear!?!?!?" ॐ

Because some people hold on to why they have always played progression, loot-find, aRPG games.
Which was killing monsters with crazy builds and progressing their characters, their account, slowly but surely. Contrary to what aRPG developers took from the D2jsp bastardisation; Not everybody wants the best loot possible, as soon as possible. Why the fuck would I, in a progression, loot-find game? It is completely at odds with the purpose of the genre. Casually casual. Last edited by TheAnuhart#4741 on Oct 14, 2013, 9:16:04 PM

"I have never walked into a pawn shop, Period. Walking into a pawn shop is how you get swindled before you even make a purchase. |
|
" There are two things wrong with this statement. One is the assumption that you will be instantly swindled upon entering a pawn shop-- this is not true. There are certain things that you are most definitely better off buying at a pawn shop rather than buying new. Second is the fact that you made this assumption without any prior pawn shop experience. Setting this aside, the point is that when you walk into one, they have prices on all the items. You don't bring a chainsaw up to the counter without knowing what the store wants for it... you CAN talk them down, but the initial price point is set by THEM. " I like killing monsters, not haggling with people. This is why I dislike trading. I am not opposed to trading, you could trade in D2. However, I never felt as if I was 'forced' to trade in D2 but I do feel that way in PoE. Considering PoE is marketed as a single player game (that happens to be online) I find the 'forced' trading to be vexing. I would like a self found league because in such a league there wouldn't be trading. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

" Well, to answer the first question, it's because people are generally assholes; offering silly prices for things, wasting my time (and theirs) by not actually telling me what they want, and without a shred of common courtesy the entire time. Oh, and let's not forget what a legendary pain in the ass it is to find an item you'd actually be interested with the current system. That's a pretty significant part of it too, but it's mostly mitigated by the presence of indexers. To answer the second question, I don't want a self found league - because despite how truly disgusting trading is now, it'd be much worse to try to get something that enables a build you enjoy without having the option to trade for it. |
