Hard-Cruel-Ruthless-Terrifying
Hard-Cruel-Ruthless-Unfathomable Hard-Cruel-Ruthless-Exiled The third is my personal favorite, as it flows well with the story. I mean, it is a path of exile... in my mind a path of exile ends in being exiled, forever cast out in the cold. I like the current names of the first three and think it would be lame if all the difficulties are different ways of saying exiled. That's pretty weak and lacking imagination. I like the way the difficulty describes the player. First your a hard, mean SOB, then your just straight cruel, followed with being ruthless, without a care for others. Finally your Exiled for your sins. :D |

As my favourite word, I'll go ahead and mention: Malicious.
Characterized by malice; intending or intended to do harm Malicious. Doesn't it just roll off the tongue? By failing to prepare, you prepare to fail.

My personal suggestion is... Hard, Cruel, Ruthless, Evil. |

I haven't read through all the postings here yet, but are you really considering that the least-challenging difficulty be "Hard." ?
That may prove a bit confusing to new players to the genre. Might I suggest: Tenderfoot Common Cruel Infernal |
