Thanks for the answers. I think I will give this a try until we can play the new leagues. Has anyone already tried to play a PA summoner? Looks quiet good on paper. Minions can deal with chaos resist mobs, tank and make sure monsters stay inside the clouds.

At the moment it's generally avoided because the Increased Item Rarity/Quantity supports cannot apply to degeneration, but it should be pretty good otherwise. I know of a couple others that do it, but I haven't tried it myself.

Yep. All sources other than the support gems work. This is because the support gems only apply to kills caused by hits.

To be specific, the supports will work if an enemy is killed by the actual arrow, but not by the degeneration from the cloud.

A PA summoner might be a great idea for the upcoming leagues since we know that IIQ will be disabled. Definitely something worth trying imo!
I might not be doing PA now. WIth the changes you will have to invest into your damage potential, making it so you no longer have extra nodes for things like regen or greater defenses. Combine that with the fact you can't leech with the dot damage and I expect the build to be much weaker after these changes overall.
I think now is the time to revisit this idea. :D
