Quality of Threads decreasing.

ahhhh missing CB once again :)

As Charan said though: it had to end at some point.
I attacked one thread for added to the trash but I started having people side against me. I was left in a tough spot of bumping a dying thread to defend myself or just letting it die. Fuck I hate giving up fights only to win.

I agree OP but not much I can see them doing to fix it. I like reddits voting system but at the same time good ideas that are unpopular gets trashed. Reddit allows you to discuss popular opinions indepth, other ones you're looking at a bunch of -1 rather than a back and forth.

the only thing similar to CB is alpha.
there is direct correlation between the quality and sophistication of the language being used and the constructiveness of the criticism in the threads of late.
i can only conclude that some would never understand what CB was like, even if we tried to explain it.
This thread is a prime example.
I understand people are getting tired of reading the same type of complaints over and over again. That said, this thread is a contradiction in of itself:

1) OP complains about others complaining.
2) OP lists topics which have been discussed ad infinitum without a proper response from GGG.

So, unless we get a some sort of FAQ addressing these frequently discussed issues, they'll keep coming up... It's been like this since the beginning of open beta. Therefore, how the hell is the thread quality decreasing? As a matter of fact, it has remained fairly consistent because players tend to run into similar problems.

To me it's not the topics being repeated that's an issue (well, it's a minor one. A more organized forum with an often-posted section would help), it's the tenor of those threads. Look at the thread titles alone to see how rude and entitled people sound.

"Still no fix to phy reflect...(waiting for GGG reply) why are you encouraging bad play styles?"

"GGG Make A Decision..."

"Dear GGG, please STOP CATERING towards casuals. They are DESTROYING the game!"

"Worst client/server side programmed game I've ever played..."

"Lol Big Skin Tranfer mechanic fail"

Or how about this gem from a thread:

"Otherwise this whole exercise is paramount to childish trolling. Are you adults running a company, or giggling children hiding stuff from their parents?"

People presuming to tell GGG how to make the game, or just straight up insulting them, is just amazing to me.

The lack of understanding of how game development works (like bitching about art being updated while other issues need code fixing. It's called 2 different departments folks), combined with not understanding the point of a Beta is sad.

Compared to just about every other company out there (especially the big ones like Ubisoft, EA, 2K, etc) GGG does an amazing amount of communicating and listening to feedback.

People should cherish that, not shit on GGG for their (real and perceived) shortcomings. The game and those that make it will not please everyone, and it'd be nice to accept that and to understand that the people at GGG are just that, people. Fallible like the rest of us.

Probably because nothing's being done to fix the issues.
There's a point where people complain for the sake of venting.
There's another point where consistent complaining about the same thing for long enough yields a problem.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.

As someone who has put in a lot of time in CB, alpha and OB (5-10 toons over 70 in all 3 realms), nothing is similar to CB. All 3 are pretty unique unto themselves.

Do you work for GGG? No? Then how do you know nothing's being done?

That's exactly the type of presumption I'm talking about.
Complaining to vent does nothing to help the community or the forums, all it does it clutter up the area with crap.

They HAVE done stuff to work on the common complaints (such as the desync, to whit I point to reducing the size of the art files, working on shadow rendering, and other things that tax your system). Now, can they do more? Of course! Are they? They say they are, and I for one am content to take their word for it based on their past performance.

And of course other ones, such as how the fusings/jewelers work, probably aren't going to change much going forward, so what's the point of bitching? If you don't like a seriously core system of the game that is unlikely to change, you can either accept it and play, or go away and find a game you enjoy more.

I wish everyone would just provide feedback, good and bad, then sit back and enjoy the ride. If, for whatever reason, someone can't, they should go away until they can. (Which many people have said they are doing, and more power to them.)

Agreed. I'd happily read a thousand threads about "RNG supersedes player skill" if the posters could not fly off the handle in the first sentence and jump right into shit-talking anything and everything around them.

Specifically regarding thread titles, GGG fell into the bad habit of responding more often to threads titled "GGG PLS: <blah>" or "CHRIS RESPOND -- YOUR GAME SUCKS". They took the bait and reinforced the image that they rarely read the forum and only respond when called out.
