I don't really understand why a class that starts in the middle would be any more/less powerful than any other starting area. Just about any long-term build is achievable from any starting point given the same amount of points, the only thing that differs is the "path" as a function of character level.
For example, let's say you want to build a Resolute Technique-CI Sweep character. As a Templar, you would likely hit the RT Keystone first and make your way to CI later, and spend ~23 points at a bare minimum just to grab these two Keystones. If you start at the "15% Melee Physical Damage" passive in the middle of the tree, you're again going to spend ~24 points just to hit the CI and RT keystones. Of course, the middle of the tree offers a little bit more flexibility regarding how you want to start your journey, but at the same time, it does not house any of the juicy Notable passives familiar to the starting areas of all other character classes (however, there are a handful of niche Keystones in the middle). Basically, the strength of a character that starts in the middle of the tree would be flexibility, however builds wishing to specialize a certain way (especially early game) would still likely choose one of the other classes. even if it wasnt in the main game the idea that you could have non class bias races where everyone starts in the middle might be worth it alone.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

I don't see how a 7th class (taking spot in the middle) would be overpowered at its current form.
Have you actually seen how crappy the nodes there are? 15% melee damage followed by 3x 6% melee damage or x3 8% weapon ele nodes. 6% attack speed followed by 3x 3% attack speed or x3 2% block nodes. etc. Unless those nodes get buffed that "7th class" would hardly be overpowered. Probably one of the weakest class of all. |

" They would be able to get CI and US more easily than any other class with the option of going towards the Templar area to get the armor/ES nodes and other goodies or right for the eva/ES nodes near the shadow. The starting nodes aren't as stellar, but for builds that cross the skill tree it would be far easier. EDIT: plus, conduit discharges would have conduit super quick as well as increased area nodes. The middle would just provide a wider range of options than any other starting point. Last edited by Hulkcore#6592 on Sep 8, 2013, 2:26:06 PM
