Still no fix to phy reflect...(waiting for GGG reply) why are you encouraging bad play styles?

if my dagger ranger uses dual strike with melee splash I will 1 shot myself on reflect.

That is why I use double strike with splash and have dual strike as a single target when I know theres no reflect. Do I lose significant dps? Yes. Do I still faceroll everything? Yes.

Hi

Reflect is a stupid mechanic, feels like a monster cop out skill especially if you attempt a EK build with hatred and hrimsorrows, getting one shotted by phsy and ele reflect is BS, but I wouldn't be so against reflect damage if GGG just had a flask effect that could negate a percentage of reflect, might take a while though took forever to get staunching and warding(which are awesome).

There is no balance to this mechanic like any other game I have played with reflect damage oriented monsters; I am sure though, unlike the other games I have played, GGG will tinker with it till it is balanced, in what order it will be re-worked though is the question?

cheers

reflect damage IS a balance, the entire mechanic is a balance within the game making scaling your damage far beyond your defences dangerous. The more damage you do = the easier 99% of the game is = the more difficult 1% of the game is. The more difficult bit is reflect damage, you can either kill yourself on it, or you cant. If you cant then it doesnt matter at all, if high damage/low defence characters want it 'fixed' or 'balanced' so that it doesnt kill them essentially theyre asking for it to be removed from the game.

I have an ek build, phys and ele reflect do hurt but theyre not fatal. Its a little under 10k dps atm. I see people talking about doing 40kdps crit ek... all well and good if you dont mind killing yourself regularly. I personally don't like dying regularly, I don't like dying at all so I dont play builds that are fragile, I dont use crit ek, I dont use dual/flicker strike splash with crit daggers, I dont play 2k life melee glass cannons, I dont play non shavs low life etc. If you cant resist the allure of a massive dps figure thats fine, but you got to accept it comes with a down side.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
lower dps

problem solved
The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

If they want people to have lower dps, they should have just designed the game to have that kind of dps number.

Reflect is a boring and lazy mechanic, but its prolly here to stay.

They did design the game to have that kind of DPS number. The game will remind you that you've crossed the line from time to time with a reflect mob.

Thats not what I said. I said they should have designed the game to let you get only as much dps as they wanted, not put a boring lazy and shitty 1shot mechanic in.

Vaal smashing yourself is not fun. at all.

Dem masochistic hardcore players that think they're better cuz they don't mind losing it all in the inevitable event of the characters death.
1)Gimme a break
2)hardocre vs NORMAL ( ie: default vs ALTERNATIVE mode) has nothing to do with anything.

Given OP threatened to report any 'troll comments' I figured I'd save them the effort.
