Story - My best moment in PoE!

My best moment in PoE was when i found my first Exalted Orb, the adrenaline rush fantastic, mainly because there were quite a few mobs left before i could loot it(just to be safe) anyways, so i'm almost done clearing and i disconnect, I let out a long "NOOOOOO!". then 5seconds later my mom yells "I turned off the internet, how do I turn it off again."

I just stormed out there turned it on, ran back in hope that my lovely exalted Orb was still there, and it was! :)

My best story - I had only been playing hardcore for a few weeks (this was a while ago) and I had 2 divines drop in only 10-15 hours of playing. As a complete beginner I had no idea how valuable divines were - I thought they were actually common because of the skewed RNG I was lucky to have. The problem was I trusted anyone and didn't appreciate its value - and I didn't bother to check a website since I got them so easily I thought they cant be THAT rare.

Anyway I was conned into spending the 2 divines on a nearly worthless evasion chest with + hp and tri resists and NO sockets/links - I thought it was a good deal because the guy selling it was like - yeah 2 divines is fine - its worth that much. I walked out happy.

Then in the coming few days I realised few people traded in divines and non were dropping. I checked the value - a divine was like 8 chaos and chaos themselves werent common for me. Then I realised how scammed I was. I DIDNT DROP A DIVINE FOR 3 MONTHS OF PLAY AFTER THAT!!

Anyway when this was long and forgotten, just a few weeks ago I was having a conversation with a guy who I had just traded with. I gave him a pretty good 'friendly' deal on a Carcass Jack with 4L. He was happy with my business and I talked with him about the economy and players in general. We talked about how people can scam noobs - and he talked about how he scammed some noob a while ago for some chest. At this point I was like, yeah similar thing happend to me I payed 2 divines for one. Then he was like WTF thats what i sold it for, and i felt guilty for a while afterwards. I then showed him the chest which i still had and we both finally believed this was really happening (we were both using different names from when the original trade happened). I was like ah well this is a small world (up here in hardcore) and he said yeah i did feel geniunely guilty about that for a while afterwards and tried to whisper/find you later to give you back atleast one fo the divines. At this stage i was like all good, i had only started then im over it, your apology is good enough. Then said he still ha da divine and would have given me two if he could, but could give me one. I said why the hell not and he did.

This all made me think that even though it may seem like a cuttrhroat world out there even people who do nasty things can just be having a bad day, and they can feel bad about it. The divines meant little compared to the faith that was restored in the community/in humanity in general. I would also like to thank that guy if he ever reads this, its fine we all get temped by easy money :). This has turned into a really corny and long story, thanks to anyone who reads the whole thing.

Story - My best moment in PoE!

Watched Kripps stream and seen quite lot of PoE but hadn’t played it myself.
Did have a urge to play it sense D3 was starting to get very boring, but I was thinking for myself "Damn that map is ugly can’t play that" and I didn’t because of the map layout.

So when the time eventually came and I downloaded poe, well let’s say I’m stuck.
Still think the map layout isn’t the best but can’t figure how that stopped me from even try the game for so long.

So my best moment where when I finally overcame my dispute with the map layout and started playing PoE.

My Best moment in path was when I first started and a divine orb dropped. i had no idea what it was being a noob still so i sold it for a low level unique lol. Guess this is also my worst moment...

6L #2 Onslaught

My best time in PoE was when I was doing some regular docks runs to level up at around lvl 70 one night a few months ago. I was in Hardcore, I had music going and I was drinking and getting just a perfect buzz. I ended up dying, but the good buzz and the good music made it all better. I know I had just died because I was drinking/smoking and playing HC. But I didn't care, I was having a great time and just started a new character and that was that.

Best moment by far was the my absolutely first map i closed beta. Me and a friend had been grinding for hours in felshrine when finally we saw a "Grotto" map drop. What an excitement to see the white rectangle around the map name. We rolled monster pack size on it and decided to go for it with our ground slam & FP Marauder & Witch. The map was full of golems and seemed huge. It took us about 45 minutes just to clear half of it and we had already died 3-4 times total. It was so freaking hard to beat maps with self found gear by then! Golems were so resistant and we had so much trouble surviving anything. We left the map half full because we were so mad at how impossible the map was ! We did never do another Grotto on the whole closed beta but whenever I do one now, I think of that first monster pack we killed on that very day.

...Well there it was, I had reached merciless vaal on my very first hardcore character ever. A dual wield Acrobatic claw shadow. 2000 Hp and 250 armour to my name - ready to tackle merciless vaal. Of course, global didn't think so. That didn't stop me though, in fact, it just made things a little bit more interesting. After placing a few bets and fiddling with my stream to turn it to a low enough quality not to affect my play - the fight was on.

The altar had been activated, the ground shook beneath me, as did my hands, knowing all that I worked for could be gone in an instant - but I was determined.

"LOL HES STARTING IT INB4 RIP!!"

The fight begin, I smashed away while he summoned some creatures and quickly moved to to take them out... seems easy so far... and then bam, a single lightning bolt takes over half my health and applies shock! " O SHIT!" I scream on my stream, activate my quicksilver and run like a madman, going in to attack as soon as its over...

Then it comes, the smash of vaal, I try to move but my multistrike is delaying me! I SPAM WHIRLING BLADES until it finally goes off, dashing underneath vaal just barely avoiding the smash.

Finally he falls, I make 15 chaos from collecting bets - far more than I had at this point. And feel incredibly accomplished.

Since then I've had my fair share of epic moments, that does come with the territory after all. But that one still has a special place in my heart. Hope you enjoyed.

Hardcore Lioneye bow.

Someone told me i only needed Fire and Cold resist. So I raised them as high as possible with what gears I have and had negative resist for light and chaos in Merciless.

Happily farming on ledge before the fake god nearly 2 hit me. That instant my character life disappeared, I alt f4. Logging back in I still see my char in Onslaught, heaving a sigh of relief.

That is my 1st character for the game, and I started 10 days ago.

But the most HC event for me was seeing the latest dl patch going at 3kb/s...
