I'm just gonna leave it here. Caution: it may cause severe brain damage. And you most likely will absolutely hate it, or absolutely love it. I've read some posts back, and I see someone is thinking about watching Steins;gate. A word of advice: watch it. And don't stop until you finish it. It is well worth it. Bonus points: additional OVA (while not important for the story) is actually pretty damn nice closing. For me it was almost as important as the real ending. :P

Call me crazy, but I actually really enjoyed the thing between the two. Subtle, weird and yet pretty beautiful. Ok, I'm stopping now, I'm angry at everything again. :-V

Poputepipiku is just amazing. The seiyuu combinations they've had so far are perfect. Between it and Gintama, we have probably two of the funniest anime ever airing right now.
I was reading about the S;G OVA yesterday. Since it's included in the basic bluray set, I don't consider it optional or non-canonical. It actually fits perfectly AND has definite repercussions on the larger story. The only reason it'd be considered 'optional' is because it isn't in the VN but eh, Fate/Zero isn't in the F/SN VN and it's absolutely essential. It takes a pretty strict VN purist to disregard additions made by the official peeps after the fact.

In the case of the S;G OVA, the fact that it actually brings Okabe and Kurise back together despite them being strangers at the end of the VN is important because they're 'together' in the movie, although it is itself non-canonical. The VN ending is much more typical with the 'strangers passing on the street having a moment' thing. Inferior to the OVA imo.
