" Before you throw in the towel, you might want to wait till the next patch which is going to be reducing the file size of the art assets, which is going to help those on 32 bit OS's You might still need to use medium textures and the -gc 2 command line though. Also your PC running other games is hardly an indication that it is good or bad it's the amount of time and money spent developing the game is the main difference between this and any other title from even a moderately sized gaming studio. GGG is small around 50 people the last i heard and a lot of that is support staff, Blizzard on the other hand have hundreds of people working to make sure the game runs well on old systems they also have millions of dollars to hire these people...the end result is massive. And just a quick note, any and all system requirements for the game are now very old and were given in early closed beta. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

" By using a VPN you can bypass your ISP's cache/proxy servers that they may(most likely) use. When you download the game and you go via a cache/proxy server, you can get outdated files which can cause problems. We have a thread here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/103073 Which details how to use a VPN and everything, but if you need further help for doing this, just let us know :) Basically what you need to do, is delete the game(or rename/back it up to a different directory) and then connect to the VPN and run the installer to perform a fresh install. Keep in mind, if you have any sort of bandwidth restriction on your internet connection, you may want to consider that before doing this. |

Dude, that hardware is really really bare minimum. You might get this game to run with some tinkering since the graphics seem to support shader model 3.0, but you won't have a great experience with 12 slow shader cores. Newer chips easily get 500 times better performance. You are generations behind and this game bogs down a lot of new video cards.

Lagwin1980 hey man yeah i understand were your coming from i just thought it was insane that i could get great quality from other games still even from my pc's specs and then all of a sudden on this one game not at all, you know? Henry_GGG ill give that a go and let it download all of tonight considering yes i do have a small bandwidth but its enough to run a couple xboxs and 3 pc's at once all downloading stuff and playing games as well, hasn't been any net lag that i can detect so i think its alright i guess? idk.

" Well the thing is, your graphics card and system meets the minimum required specifications to run the game. So yes, it should be able to open/launch/display, but when it comes to frame rate and performance, it would struggle somewhat to play properly. (Keep in mind this is with the current state of the game, improvements are being made to make it run better on older systems) My comment about bandwidth before was more to do with a 'monthly cap' or total amount of data you can download, not so much how quickly it can download etc. If you don't have any bandwidth constraints then it is worth a shot at least, in my opinion that is anyway :) |

A lot of people don't realize just how small this company is, when they started selling supporters packs during closed beta they managed to make 2 million off it that was then spent on servers and additional download capacity for the game when it went live, then onto hiring more support staff and a few other programers...before that the game had been a money sink for the staff the spent life savings and borrowed form friends and family.
The graphics engine from what i understand was made from scratch by one person, they have just recently hired another guy to help which is why we are now seeing the optimization of the art assets. They also want to try get the game running on as many PC's as possible but that also requires money including test rigs which is why they haven't changed the official requirements yet. Comparing it to a blizzard product is mental...blizzard realize that their gamers don't upgrade regularly and they take that into account and spend millions to make sure the game runs on old hardware, and they still manage to fuck it up sometimes.
