If you look closely in the videos, you'll see that the grass sways in the wind and is disturbed by players or monsters.

If I look closely I see pink flowers and too much sunlight. It should be more dark.

Concerning the gameplay. To be honest, what's fun about being unstoppable killing machine? Sure it's fun, for about 5 minutes.

From my experience, with proper knowledge and build, even hell difficulty of D2 was a breeze. Only fun I had was when I typed /players8 , on hell.

So, "setbacks", to call them so, are fun and giving you feeling that you have to do better. Not just aimlessly swinging at oncoming swarm of enemies, but planning your attack. Hordes of monsters pushing you back, from time to time of course, making you run for your life. This, imho, gives us a feeling of being in hostile world that is not our playground.

Summa summarum, I'm afraid that game will be too easy. But, I trust in you, GGG. Give us a challenge.

Samael is right. D2 /players8 should be the baseline for difficulty. The early game can be easy for new players but players should still be afraid at the end of the game too.

One thing I've noticed in the videos so far is how long it takes to kill things. Seems like quite awhile compared to other arpgs I've played. Maybe these videos are just made for show, but a pack of normal monsters shouldn't take 20-30 seconds should they?

The animations look great btw. I love how that one beast did a leap attack at the witch.

Exactly how mind-numbing do you want this game to be? Arpgs already are not really known for being very brain stimulating, being that the main function of the games is point-and-click. To make the games more interesting and intuitive, the enemies must be smarter and more challenging. Being that the main thing you do in the game is kill enemies, what fun is there in taking down a swarm in 5 seconds (if your not 20 levels above the enemies level)? Samael has the right idea. Enemies must be more than walking treasure chests.

Also, I too love the goatman's leap attacks and the animations.

So i am guessing that wonderful DING sound in clip 5 was a skill gem leveling up?

I heard that too and had rewound it a few times to see if it showed anything dropping but I didn't see much. I am wondering if it is a gem level up as well. Can anyone shed any light on this?

With regard to the UI, please look at this image at the native game resolution.

Its the bar of options under the potions which i dislike the look of, mentioned it ages ago too

other than that i am yet to find anything to moan about, as with everyone else cant wait for the beta

I'm pretty sure the bar across the bottom is an xp meter. At least that's what it looks like here

Personally, I really like the look of the UI. Though, I am curious as to what the teal curve represents that's sitting over the health (red) globe. Any ideas anyone?

The nest on the ground was also looked really cool and seemed fitting. Great attention to details GGG. Every time I come back and look at this game, I get more and more antsy to play.

Beta soon, please?

...pretty sure that's the "energy shield" bar, placed over the health orb to signify that it takes hits first.
I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out.
Heard its twisted dreamed inanity
In a whisper, in a shout.
In the babbling cacophony
The refrains are all the same:

Ah, that would make sense. Thanks!

Right. Chris confirmed that a while back. The energy shield is provided by intelligence armor though of course all classes can have one. It absorbs damage until its depleted and then the character starts taking damage to his life. It'll recharge over time when out of combat.
