Actually let me expound on my "maps" answer.
A solid map affix system would be a good sink for all affix-related orbs. Also give maps intrinsic mods, such as "Monsters have x% additional accuracy" or "Players have x% less Energy Shield." This would add build dependency to even white maps. Make x highly variable (near-zero to high) to encourage Blessed Orb use in instances where a player wants to run a map that "isn't for them." Really outside the box: Limit max party size to 4 (would kind of help with FPS, plus what follows). Make maps 2x2 items with up to 4 sockets (and use the extra art room to make them look like maps, not runes). Each socket creates a portal; unlinked sockets go to separate instances (great for solo play), linked sockets all go to the same instance, with new Lab graphics to show that the portals are linked. Adding support gems (not active gems) to a socket grants players traveling through that portal the support gem's benefit (now named "Faster Attacks portal" or some such), but only if they don't have the support already; the buff expires as soon as the player exits the map. Red sockets would make red portals, etc. This would sink Chromes, Jeweler's, Fusings, and support gems, perhaps even gem quality (GCPs) in some rare instances. Pretty sure that's every single currency sunk. ———— ———— ———— ———— ———— Additionally, steal the Iron Golem concept from Diablo 2. The Golem would have a mana pool of its own, the same passives you have, and use whatever skills are socketed in the item sacrificed to create it, plus Basic Attack (unarmed unless weaponized) if it has no other options. It would count as a totem, so you couldn't have more than one at a time without jumping through hoops. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. "As opposed to "Labyrinthine or bust," yes. There should be lots of good affixes; the best way to do this is how it's done with rare gear, make particular affixes play to a certain crowd and be bad for others. Getting great affixes (lots of benefit, near zero risk) should be build dependent, as in "this adds quantity but only hurts ES, which I have none of." Getting bad affixes should have about the same reward but present a challenge (the same map for an ES user). Stuff like increased map size (benefits everyone) and -x to all elemental resistances (hurts everyone) are bullshit map affixes that don't come even close to reaching the map system's true potential. " Ooooh, so we're supposed to top both crafting and mapping for currency sinks. OK, I got one. All orbs automatically turn into wisdom scrolls every 2 minutes. Because honestly, you're going to need something like that to beat crafting and mapping. I don't trade. I don't group. My comments reflect that.

" Wow, this seems like an awesome idea |

" Have you even read the thread? There are already tons of amazing ideas given. :) |

" If by amazing, you mean shitty, then yes, there were some amazing ideas given. Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
