Whats your all time favorite RPG race/class??

first major rpg i played was wow, started out with a draenei hunter, then a human lock, and eventually settled on my draenei shaman, who I fell in love with. She's enhancement/healing, but I've tried elemental with her as well.
I do tend to go for ranged/magic users, but that shaman is the only melee character I actually enjoyed. Magic users I tend to go for warlocks, build/type depends on game I'm playing. As far as races, I tend to go for elves, or humans, then if there is any racial ability that's cool/better than other racials (ie human's rep increase in wow), I'll usually play that race more than others. |

5-6 years ago I used too play Lineage 2 quite a lot. While now I realize what an unforgivable grind-fest it was, I can say without a doubt that the Orc Warcrier class is my favorite RPG class archetype ever. A little background info: in the game you start as either a "Fighter" or a "Mystic", and then do quests as you progress in levels to get your actual class. Fighters get a melee weapon for starting gear, while Mystics get a wand or some such magic thing and a basic damaging nuke. Only the Orc Mystics (the base class for a Warcrier) started with a melee weapon and a physical damage increasing self-buff. In the end the Warcrier is a party-supporting mage (buff-bot) that can wear heavy armor, carry a melee weapon, dish out tons of physical damage, tank almost as good as dedicated tanks, control hoards of mobs (depending on build) and be generally fun in PvP. The ultimate Jack Of All Trades in my opinion.
Since my time in Lineage I try to play the most versatile class available. Or the one with the most differentiated builds. Bonus points for being a Proud Warrior Race Guy. Last edited by Maleval#6884 on Sep 16, 2011, 7:43:43 AM

Archer/ranged combat - Not spellcaster.
Though I love a good backstabber, assuming you get damage bonuses for such tactics... Rogue/Blackguard from D&D types :P |

I have always been fond of caster classes myself. Mage/sorcerer/etc... Not really sure why, guess I just suck at melee combat.
