No. You need to have the item level be high enough for it to happen at all, but have an item level higher than that has no effect on Chancing a unique (though it affects what mods can roll on magics/rares).

So if u have an ilvl siege axe from lunaris or 66+ maps then its bettehr the chance for making rares or simplely you put alch ?. Soul taker dsnt go here isnt it ?.

I don't get your question, could you re write it ? But i will try to reply :

A higher ilvl Siege axe has better mods when :

- You alch it. / You transmut it
- You chance and get a rare or a blue.


But, a higher ilvl will not affect your chance on getting a unique nor affect the rolls of the unique IF you get one. ( i am not sure about the last point tho )

Correct, the individual mod rolls on a unique are entirely "random" and do not depend on anything (including item level).

1- The ilvl required to chance an item to its unique :
◄ In general : equal to the unique's level required. But not a rule : A bastard sword with an ilvl lower than 14 ( level required for Shiversting ) can be chanced to Shiversting ( here)
◄ Some uniques need to have a minimum ilvl to be chanced, such as :

The anvil
Auxium
Le Heup Of all
Atziri's Foible
..

2- When you reach ilvl required for chancing, the chance to get a unique is the same for that ilvl or any higher ilvl. And the rolls are random.

This may be a dumb question-- But the chances are only based upon you individually not based upon a global drop rate?

i.e. Can the chance of dropping a Soul Taker be affected by the number of players online? I figure no. But I could see how one could take that path in development.
