Discharge Guide

Hi I want to level a discharge templar following this guide but i have a question: If u discharge on ele reflect mobs u die? thanks and sry for my english

Hey again. I'm totally impressed by your videos and I really like what I see :)
Here's my question: What build would you recommend for leveling purposes? I guess it would be a huge advantage to grab some life nodes and respec them later. But for the skill choices, since you do stack up alot of crit chance for spells and stuff, what skills would you pick to level until you finally can start discharging?

One question, gear cost. What is gear requirements /cost to buy all necessary gear? Minimally you need ... how many EXes? Estimate by someone, plse?

One more thing, recently I found nice weapon that I suspect could work nicely with this build:




And since it's not easy to sell thing like that, could you tell me will this work with discharge or should I stick to divinarius?

Ehh to answer myself about costs, since nobody else will :)
So with some patience and contacting few hundred traders in few days :) I was able to pull out these prices:

5L voll protector - 1ex
rainbowstride - 2ex
voidbringer gloves 2ex
dream fragments 1,5 ex
all other stuff (except divinarius) - roughly 1 ex

so cost was 7,5 ex without weapon, yes without belt /helm too but those should be relatively cheap.

take into account that you need few Q gems, few other uncommon gems, some orbs to jew/chrome/fuse some of gear ...

so with some luck and persistence you should be able to gear yourself for around 10 ex'es

one more thing hellbringer gloves are now VOIDBRINGER
I lost whole day trying to buy hellbringers :)

If you use power charge to discharge, yes you will die to reflect even if you have vaal pact a lot of the time, because lightning dmg in the discharge is very high, and life leach often is not enough.

i have no idea why you give gameplay advice

lets say i do 100k dps
now i met a reflect 18k dps in my face = 18%
now i have 80% allresi

18000/100 *80 = 14400

18000-14400 = 3600 dps in my face vaalpact has instant leech which means leech and damage apply at the same time so i have to have less than 3600 es to die

Depends on your ES and DPS. I am level 88 and have never died to reflect. Just make sure you don't crit weakness reflect mobs.

Finally some discharge colleagues, all this worriers have me worried too :)

I am still learning, leveling my templar as infernal blow+melee splash build (lots of fun) and using warlord's mark + endurance charges discharge just to get grip of mechanics, not that I need it.

There are still few things I want to clarify ....

Like using 2 divinariuses. Necessery? I have one + recommended shield. I have 5L volls chest, meaning less spell chc. Will I have problems with low chc if I use shield? Must I use crit weakness more often in either way?

Is discharge "spell" at all? Does "increased spell damage" work on discharge?

Which gems are most important to be Quality? Discharge obviously, Increased AoE too, how about curses? Leeches probably not because they don't increase quantity just leech speed (life /mana type alike)

Which gems should be left on lvl 1? For now I know about ice spear, I know also that green gems should be kept below 104 dex. Anything else?

Anyway thanks in advance for any advises or clarifications for wannabee discharger. This is my first "expensive" build and i want everything to go smooth, understandably for all of "fortune" that I invested :)

this time i have a question by myself because i cant test it

how much dps difference between divi and void ? i know i would lose 20% crit which is ~1% bascrit but would gain 120% spelldmg since you own both its easy for you to tell
