Discharge Guide

I am using similar build too , but it is a bit hard for solo boss, GMP chain ice spear take a few cast to stack up the charge , and since it is single target you only get 1 charge after discharge then you need to stack charge again, mana become a big issue for me.

On level 72 or so you should/can have 5+4 charges available(power and endurance. Frenzy is just bonus), all you need to ensure is to have power charges full at all times. I use ice spear so it's relatively easy to keep charges up even from far. Then you hit decently every time. It can be tricky but you have to do it two to three times tops /except on vaal - he's mean mofo.

Hi,
thx a lot for your experience. I don't understand where and how you have fenzy : a piece of armour ? What's your armour and gemms ? TY. |

Well true essence of this build is this:
One gets you PCoC - any critical you do, not just main attack, and other transfers all your wasted P.Charges to End. charges. But I'm sure you knew that already. Now third part of puzzle is this; All you need to do is cast BR and be sure to kill one thing every 14 secs or so - it's very easy btw, and this skill will grant you frenzy charges for as much as creatures you kill, which is incredibly effective if you exterminate large groups. Ok as I've promised Here's my review of this build/guide. First, if you were interested, this build indeed delivers as promised. You can indeed kill screens of mobs with one key again and again. It works.
Ok now we must debunk few myths. People will hate you in parties. Wrong. Actually, people will join discharger party happily. Either to discharge with you or for free exp and items. You will find party easily. And they will come in handy too. You won't critt or kill all every time. Some backup will be welcome. You will kill yourself on reflect. Wrong. I've found many dangers to this build but reflect was not one of them. You can scale your damage if you need, lose the crit. curse ofc. and vaal pact will ensure your survival. You won't have enough of ele. resists /you need purity aura. Actually, resists won't be a problem. If you get nice resi belt and helm, plus tree resi, you will cap your resi even without purity. I've used these; And my resists are currently 66/63/66. With void barrier bonus (on lvl 73) I'll have 74/71/74 which is close enough. OP went different route, more ES on gear /less resi but then you need purity AND deep thoughts (more mana) to compensate. Discharge is OP. Actually, it's not. I would say it scales pretty nicely. Yes you will and can clear screen after screen for most of times, however leftovers of tougher mobs are fairly common. You won't kill all every time. You won't crit every time. Things will get hairy. And you'r ES will be your weakest point. It just goes with this build, no alternative I'm afraid. Your MF sucks. Actually, your sheer kill speed will more then compensate for your low MF. While other guy cleans the room you will zap through three. This guy piles loot and exp very fast, comparing to my other chars. Do not dwell on "low" MF for a second. This game is lottery anyway. So yes, this build works but you know how it is. Glass canon, and glass does break. This is my tree at lvl 69 - My tree /link. As You can see I'll be able to reach to full void barrier circle on lvl 73. 2 additional charges at lvl 77. And deep thoughts at lvl 80. Then build will be finished, more or less. Now Currently with two weapons; My crit is insane but ES is stucked on 3260, with aura, yes. So for now I'm using recommended ratpith shield which keeps my ES at playable 4160. Yes, ice spears don't always crit but it's not that disturbingly noticeable. It takes time to get used to gameplay I warn you. Your charges are your attack and defense. As soon as your ES or mana begin to deteriorate you must discharge. When you're in large group of mobs you feel safest. Small groups /few tough monsters - could be a problem. Safest route is just to zoom by them and let them follow you in larger group. You must move quickly and kill en masse, to keep this build really shine. Your ES is low, armor too meaning that your ES will go down brutally fast. Your only solution is to kill them before they kill you. It works nicely most of time but you have very thin margin for error. Still this is my fastest exp gathering character even with occasional death. Because rate of kill with this build is insane. Build is lot of fun, that is for sure. Still I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I'm writing this so that you have some visualization of what you're getting into. Weak point of build: Ele resist monsters. Nobody warn you about those huh? :) They can be annoyingly resistant to your damage. I'm even thinking of getting ele weakness curse, it works wonders on my ele archer char, so why not here. Fast yellow monsters. If they have ele resist for example and flicker strike, they follow you around (those bastards at market, hooked horors or something...) You are virtually defenseless. Very annoying, best thing just to run away. Sometimes even small group of fast normal mobs can pose a problem to you. Low "health" so even occasional lucky strike from black mage lightning can maul you to death. Sometimes you don't' even know what killed you, because of frenetic tempo and low health. One more thing, this build pretty much shines in killing bosses, they usually go down much faster then with other char. IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath

Sorry, Thorien, but i prefer the build given by DutchRudder (http://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/DutchRudder), without vaal pact, it seems a lot more fun.

" Lol, why should you be sorry? Each of us has different idea of what's fun or not. Personally I was never great fan of lightning strike :) EDIT Oh now I get it, well nvm, they are same builds just two slightly different approaches, more offensive or more defensive. They both work. hey, DutchRudder here... this is the discharger i built for my friend, hes level 73 atm with average gear, 5 link chest, low es helm etc
I havent found the need to use both daggers at once but the option is there if my friend wants to later ill upgrade to divinarius but ive found the mana + regen on my dagger + 20% inc global crit compared to divinarius is very handy, ofcourse i lose 10% aoe but with 0% quality discharge and no inc aoe gem the aoe is already quite nice so i can imagine with a 20% gem it would be enough, then 6 link add the aoe gem etc Im leelling up an EK gem to see if a 4 linked EK with faster cast, life leech and added fire (or mana leech if its a problem) will be good enough for left over mobs Last edited by moeman#6879 on Oct 2, 2013, 6:37:59 AM
