Old Folks ARPGing

I'm 40 and started off with an Atari 2600 or something it actually had a keyboard on it but it never really took off all you could really do was the " HI 10 goto 20 " thing and make it say HI like 1000x LOL
Got my first PC in like 93 just do I could play the forgotten realms Gold Box games. Those were legit.
I had a Macintosh centris 610 has like 100k hard drive and 50 k ram or some shit like that .

32 yr old w/ 4 kids and family. I have been playing games since atari and every system after that. I can go through 1000's of games I have played.

My favorite game growing up was Moria (Has other names like Angband and there were many other variations of it for Dos). I played a lot of Dos games and was playing online before AOL. When games were not texted base it ranged from ultima, d and d computer games, eldor scrolls, baldurs gate... I loved might and magic.

Played console but had most fun and preferred Computer. I played a lot of RPG's.

Also play first person shooters and sports games... Just not as often anymore... Always end up around a 2.5-3/1 KDR on shooters online. Best first person shooter, Golden eye.

If you don't remember atleast kings quest on computer... Also played ALOT of origional Nintendo.

720 was better, but only on arcade.

I used to hop the back yard fence and we had an arcade two blocks down road. I could spend hours on gauntlet. ha-ha

RED WIZARD IS ABOUT TO DIE.

I somehow got my hands on Gauntlet II for the pc at some point and four of us would crowd around the same keyboard playing at once.

...It was literally the worst hotseat gaming experience ever.

I'm a bit too young to of played Gauntlet in the arcade, however...Gauntlet Legends on the N64...pretty sure we had whole weekends where we did nothing but that.
Mid 40's here been playing since .. well since setting off the alarm in school leaving after midnite due to playing Wizardry =) good times good times.

Heh one thing I noticed about this thread as we amount of "supporter" badges. Heh nice thing about being older is I can afford my hobbies now without worrying about things like oh food and so on =)

After just restructuring my 401k and power of attorney today to include my newest addition to the family that's coming any moment, and reading this - even at 24 you made me feel old as dirt! Thanks! lol

42 this year -- have a two year old son and a daughter on the way. They'll be talking about their 60 year old video-gaming dad when they are in high school...

I was big into playing MUDs in the late 80s/early 90s.

Was mostly raised on pinball -- what gamers were doing before videogames.

Did play a lot of apple 2 plus.

Bard's Tale series, Wasteland, Bilestoad, Karateka.

Does anyone remember buying magazines and books filled with programs that you could type into your computer and then play the games? Turned me into a 12-year old programming/debugging guru, wish i would have kept going with the programming after i turned 16...

47 Here.

My first computer was a radio shack computer. Not the tsr-80 but a model after that.
My first IBM compatible was an 8088 with a 4 mg drive that I had to manually turn to start every other boot. My first monitor was a 13 inch mono vga monitor. Upgraded to a 286 then 386 sx-25 and have been building my own ever since.

I use to love playing Doom and all the different versions that came out. Once Quake came out, for some reason I lost interest in that genre. Started playing C&C and all the different version of that until I got bored with it.

My brother and I built my dad a computer in the mid 90's and gave him C&C. He cussed us out because he played it all through the night. He's in his mid 70's and still plays it.

There was a game called Dungeon Master that I use to love to play. Whipping the imps and hearing the succubus being tortured was a lot of fun.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit - The Tick
