Old Folks ARPGing
" My first modem was a 300 baud rate with error correction. Calling another computer usually meant typing something similar to (*68, 6155228895) after all, you had to turn off call waiting so you didn't get kicked in the middle of a transfer. I ran a BBS using spitfire BBS from my home, ahem, trading things. It's funny how modern internet forums are very similar to old school BBS software. Except for the whole trading equal volume of files, We let the FTP server guys have that crap. God I'm feeling old, but I'm only 36. There comes a time thief when jewels cease to sparkle, gold loses it's luster, throne room becomes a prison, and all that's left is a father's love for his child. - King Osric

Wow... the days of modems and BBS. I remember going to BBS's and trading files. A 1 mg file would take a minimum of 15 minutes.
Afterwards, the internet became more public and you had to know a little command line UNIX to get your mail and hit the newsgroups. AOL was one of the first providers back then that had a gui. I dropped them after the first month when I heard the horror stories of people spending $200 - $500 a month because they went over 40 megs and getting charged for every meg over it. And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit - The Tick
