Old Folks ARPGing

I know this is a RPG game but anyone that played the Chris Roberts Space games (Wing Commander, Privateer, etc etc) should check out his new title Star Citizen. Star Citizen will be the greatest space sim of all time when all is said and done and has raised over 12.5 million through crowd funding (I invested $250 over there for an awesome RSI constellation with lifetime insurance). It will have a 36 mission game like the wing commander series inside a persistent massive online world like privateer. Chris Roberts easily made some of the greatest games of all time and I've been looking for a modern day privateer for years.... And here it comes by the man himself.

Been playing P/E since January. Finally figured out some builds to take me into the 70s. Paid for game many times over with stash slots.

Age 61. Will be 62 in October.

We old folks are out there, hiding in plain sight. Most here would be astonished if they knew how many of us there were. I started a old folks guild on WoW in 2007. Huge demand.

My first video game was Pong in 1973, which I played on the 1st cabinet ever installed at MIT campus in Boston. I loved my Amiga 1000. Fairie Tale Adventure was my 1st RPG on that platform in 1988. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Faery_Tale_Adventure.

Awesome game.

Congrats to you. That puts you in the over 50 and still going strong arpg PoE group with me and my 2 best friends. I played the 80s titles, from the original Temple of Apshai (1980), Hellfire Warrior, to the Wizardry and Ultima series (anyone else remember "Lord British", first rpg type of game I saw that had moving water) to Bard's Tale on my Apple II+ with a whopping 64K of ram and a 15 inch Sony Trinitron TV that had a special video input that worked with the Apple's weird video. Now that's a blast from the past.

Top that for a PoE player with the longest record of playing arpg games and their forerunners. I dare you!
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I'm 62 and own working c-64 and 8088 turbo.
Started out on wizardry and ultima and finished them all. spent my 50's playing diablo 2 and other games. I will be an avid gamer till I die, and maybe die playing a great game. Just hope I drop some good items. Long live old gamers and gaming.

How times have changed. Back in my day they only came as new born.

Grats all the same, I hope the twins arrive safely.

Not sure if you are joking around or not. But let me try it again with slightly better punctuation:

have a two year old son; and a daughter on the way
For anyone who has ever played M.U.L.E. in the game Spore the mule music is one of the music files for adventures.

& here I thought I was the oldest POE player.......lol

Grats Mr_Cee, you have me by a small bit of time.

I'll be 71 in Nov.

seems I get missunderstood, not sure if for my english (non-native) or yours ;) I tried to announce my year of birth instead of age, so will have a very long way to go to 'beat' you here ^^ but it seems you're still beaten by 'older' (what a perfect fitting name, then...) And he's the reason I noticed "our" discrepancy at all...

Heh, and I thought that I'm too old for PoE @ my 40 years :)

My first serious gaming experience was Laser Squad and I still remember installing D1 from ~15 FDDs...
Anticipation slowly dissipates...
Nice to see folks mention Autoduel. I played it as Car Wars, the paper map and cardboard counter tabletop original version from Steve Jackson Games.

Surprising that it (apparently) has no current game inCARnation. =^[.]^=
