GGG: Is the Orb of Alchemy vendor recipe working as intended?
"Anyone that is part of any multi week race should care as people with more stash tabs and chrome app will have more alchemy and chaos and more chance to roll better items and as a result farm and level more efficiently. I seen this before, I played Tribalwars for 1 year and you had to use outside apps for that or lose. |

Don't feel like reading all the pages but
1)How may different names are possible? 2)How many stash tabs would one need if everyitem were the biggest ones? |

" Your arguments and responses are so compelling, why is it so hard to understand that this system will inevitably be abused, whether by the regular user with a lot of time or by someone smart enough to write a program to do all the name matching and orb hoarding by a bot. Or the fact that simply some players want to spend their time in the game and not in their stash making recipes to generate currency being left out of the economy. Fine, you do not care and many others agree with you but some do care and see it as a problem. Difference of opinion, comprehend? Or does it make you feel better to keep making childish remarks? |

" Anyone that is not able to spent ~8hours a day (or even more) in a multi week race is HOW much comparable/ abble to keep up? And once some more people are able to do this, others will invest more or even share the account to have 24h playtime per day at the end... there will always be others able to invest more... if money dont affects gameplay, then in time and not at least, in skill. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" As someone already said, you can have way more than just 10. How is a player without extra stash pages meant to compete in an economy where people who have invested more cash can essentially print orbs? Players which rely on orb drops, (how many chaos/alchs do you think have dropped for you in total?) will forever be 'poor'. Alchemy/chaos etc. ought to be rare, this recipe breaks that. The fortunate few with lots of disposable income will have way more bidding power than anyone else. I don't like the idea that a rare orb drop can be nothing more than pocket change to someone else because they spent more. " I think you're confused about the definition of pay2win. Assume two people of equal skill level and time investment are in the same ladder race. If you can spend real money to gain an advantage over the other person, then it's pay2win (even if the advantage is small, even if the advantage is non-obvious to most people). |

" It wasnt about pay2win - it was about general comparability, including further advantages other players may and will have. The chrome app can be used by everyone, and (from OB view) also everyone can have (nearly) unlimited stash due to multiple accounts. These last fact was the reason, GGG decided to see the advantage of buyable stash addons as close enough to pure convenience to put it in. And I dont see that the app would change this that much. Imagine we decide to deactivate the recipe features in it, you would be able to sort the stash just like being acribic on stacking ingame - just faster. IMHO - pay2win happens if there are features the only way to obtain is to pay - and thats not the reason for the stash pages. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" Great. Then they can start selling alch orbs directly in the store! Last edited by Sickness#1007 on Aug 15, 2012, 7:43:38 AM

" I imagine you'd also not be against experience boost or rarity/quantity boosts for the same reason then. The entire point of this thread is that stash tabs and the matching names recipe are an alchemy orb drop rate boost. All kinds of "boosters" are pay to win. |

Well, to put this bluntly, I would rather pay the developers of the game for extra stash tabs, than pay an outside gold/item seller for an orb.
And on an aside, I only recently found out about the Google chrome app from my husband. I generally only come to the forums if I'm looking for a solution to a problem or to report a bug, I have other things to do rather than hang out on the forums LOL. Previous to the app though, I had created an excel spreadsheet and just kept track of my items that way. It only took a few minutes at the end of the night, which I didn't mind spending because to me it was worth it. All the app did was take what I had being inputting myself and do it for me. Was I at an advantage because I can afford excel and have the knowledge to create a spreadsheet? I guess according to this thread, I did. In my mind though, I prefer to call it a creative solution to a problem. I guess I'm just too old to understand why everyone wants to live in a Harrison Bergeron society :) |
