Too many leagues are killing this game
I think 4 is just the right amount of leagues. Standard and Hardcore as permanent dump leagues for old chars and experimentation, and 2 active and competitive temporary leagues with special traits. I wouldn't want them to add too many either, but the way it is right now is great.
EVE players have been saying "EVE is dying" for nearly 10 years now, but EVE is more alive than ever. I am confident that Path of Exile will be no different. |

Well, you didn't really back up your opinion with any reasoning for it.
However, I do know I had taken a break from this game, knowing I would come back....eventually. But, it was a league that brought me back pretty quickly. I can say that at least in my experience, your baseless opinion isn't accurate. I have a friend who hasn't played in some time as well, and he is enjoying the same league as I. In fact, I find the idea of league extremely fun and I hope GGG perhaps bringing the community into the fold when making leagues. There are a lot of good ideas for league by a lot of players out there. Last edited by Consequence#7294 on Jun 25, 2013, 7:09:07 AM

" I think, any amount of leagues is perfect as long as they differ from each other, plus the two permanent ("parent") pool leagues (st/hc). There'll probably more ("longer-term") leagues soon - endless dungeon? CT? pure pvp? who knows? You're neither forced to participate in all nor sticked to just one, mix it as you like it; but dont demand restrictions to limit the options for other players. ^^ invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" Wanting to advance a single character and wanting to play an ARPG are not mutually exclusive desires. There is absolutely nothing about the game play of either genre that makes building one character more or less advantageous or entertaining in one than the other. It could even be argued that making alts is more interesting in an MMO where you can at least get a different in game experience with a new character starting in a different part of the world with different questing paths and playing dramatically differently with a change in class. While one can get a different style of play in PoE (or any other ARPG), based on skill choices, the experience will be largely the same each and every time you start a new character. As for the OP, while meaning no offense, it reads to me as "GGG offered something that other players enjoy and I don't. Now I can't find a group or trade. Make everyone do what they enjoy less so that I am happier." I'm sorry, but I do not, and never will, agree with such a thing. I think there aren't enough leagues. GGG has laid the groundwork for a system that allows for a great deal of variety in the experience one can have with Path of Exile. This affords them the opportunity to broaden the appeal of the game to players who might otherwise have given PoE a pass while still preserving the game play as it is for those who prefer it. Broadening the appeal of the game to as many potential players as possible is how you build the game into more than it is. Telling everyone "You'll take standard and hardcore and you'll like it" is how you actually kill the game. People enjoy different styles of game play. People also, as a general but not universal rule, enjoy taking a break from one style of game play to experience a different style of play. Leagues like anarchy and onslaught provide this, even if the differences are less dramatic. I personally think that the (apparently) mass migration from the base leagues to these temporary leagues supports the idea that the base leagues may be growing a little stale for many players. Thus new leagues prolong the life of the game, rather than kill it. Just my 2 wisdom fragments. |

" I'm not demanding anything. I just expressed that I share some, but not all, of the OPs worries. It wouldn't affect me personally since I mostly play alone. |

PoE is not an MMO. Deal with it.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Since they released the new leagues the game has been more popular than ever.

Even though OP has some valid points I want more leagues, to be exact, especially Solo/No Trading/Craftsman League.

+1 I agree OP. You should never separate the player base let alone now there are 4 leagues, then 1 more coming? GGG I think you're focusing too much on races and leagues rather than fixing the end game.
