Loot stolen on permanent allocation?

My guess is that PA was set after entering an instance. I think PA has effect only when setting it before generating an instance. I saw short allocation behaviour mltiple times when tooltip was PA.

No!!!!

Learning not to 'flip' loot because your inventory is full is a skill to be learned. It does not need to be dumbed down.
I am definitely in the two crowd, and appreciate the harsh lessons it sometimes brings.

Yes, I've noticed this as well. Many times I've seen scrolls and what not drop from barrels/crates off screen (particularly when someone is using a skill like Lightning Arrow) that appear allocated to me but get picked up by someone else.

IIRC when pressing TAB, it shows the current state of allocations for the instance.

loot releases when you leave the instance (like when you die). It sucks. I lost a unique that way :/
Presuming no exploits or hacks, I think it's possible that either there are instances where multiple people are allocated the same item or there's a display bug that doesn't always gray something that should be making you think it was yours when it really wasn't.
Saw this again last night. Had a rare armor drop. I was still fighting the mobs and didn't move but a bit later the armor was gone. I asked who picked it up. Another player volunteered to give it to me as he had picked it up. I asked him how he picked it up and he said it showed as allocated to him.

My character had not died or left the area.
Just bumping this thread ang giving info on me and my friend's case.

We were running 68 maps with permanent allocation. My friend was the leader. Since the beginning the allocation was PA.
So what happens is, we start clearing one of the maps, and a rare drops, instantly someone snatches it. This happened 2-3 times for me, i somehow managed to get 1 rare 2 hander. Same happened to him, he gets a 14 % cyclone, and someone snatches it.
So we started monitoring carefully the other party members, and notice s particular guy snatching items.
So during the whole run he took all of the more valuable orbs that dropped, a number of rares and 2 6 socketed items.
One of the other members left the party in the middle of the run and teleported in town, probably saw what happened. After the run we both left the group.

Additional info :
1. The loot was PA since the beginning and my friend didn't touch it.
2. We didn't die during the run and our inventories weren't full.

Can the devs really look more carefully into this ? I am sure people are exploiting this in some way.
