You would lose alot of DPS with that Claw. Just test it with a Claw that gives you the same Phys dmg

I think its too low (I already find a phys dmg Claw of 220 to low)

I'm currently level 38 with this build and its just starting to get good. I'm also typically very bad at theory crafting this sort of stuff. I was curious if this build could be adapted for CI? Obviously you would have to drop EB to do so but it seems like ES is really destroying end game. You would need to take the life leech to ES passive as well but I feel that could be really tanky. Could also potentially go for vaal pact? Is it just too many points out of the build? To make the switch and end game would require a substantial amount of regrets to remove all the life nodes.

Thought I'd post my experiences with this build.

In short - I'm having amazing fun.

It's my first melee onslaught character so I assumed I'd be dead by level 40 but now level 57 and going strong (just got to merciless). Had some hairy moments as melee always do but that just adds to the fun. Just trying to sort out a 5-link to use faster attacks now. Running with Grace, Hatred and Determination (all off mana atm as only have 2.1k health currently).

Can't believe how much fun this is especially once you link DS with multistrike and melee splash. Stuff just melts.

Even more fun now ensuing although it's making me take the dps nodes before the health ones now so that might come back to haunt me!

The biggest draw I had to this whole build - it's one of the minority where you use the abilities pretty much from the start. It's not one of those "use some other ability till level 70 then respec" builds that I really hate.

Currently in Act III Cruel with this build. Absolutely melting everything and my HP has not dipped below 75% due to leech/LOH. Great build so far

The build really looks like to try for HC, always wanted to play around with a claw build, but never came to it, and always starting from shadow...; will try it myself on Onslaught right away :)

A few things I wonder about though, for HC would not be interesting to path Unvawering Stance for 4 skillpoints? as the character will spend most of the time facetanking, and second would not better taking the down path to IR and take Diamond Flesh on the way? maybe Crystal Skin too for the anti-ailment help (but maybe this is not an issue so much with more life)?

This alternate path cost's the same amount of SP and enables you to take 12% res all at the cost of one 6% life node and not taking one of the 8% to armor.

Maybe I like US and resistances too much hehe, will test it nonetheless!

That is truely a GODLY shield for this build (and many others).

I think the shield is just as important as a good Claw. I forgot to mention I died on my Duelist (for the second time). Again due to desync on a Dunes map. Was whirling to a Necro but nothing happened when I hit him. I typed /oos and saw 10 undead Rhoas storming in at me. No time to logout and was dead within one second.

Maybe a usefull lesson that you shouldnt use Whirling Blades to much when enemies are surrounding you. It tends to desync alot and caused me dying twice so far.

Tried some other build, didnt have fun so restarting this one again. I especially feel sorry because 30mins before I died I geared up for maps and made myself an INSANE claw with almost 300 phys dmg top.

Lately I've gotten quite some whispers about what to look for on gear so I hope this will help you all a bit more. Ofcourse getting all those stats on gear would be near impossible but now you should be able to judge items if they suit this build.

Almost 60 using your build. Was a little rocky to start but just melting mobs now. Have 6.6k armor, 2k hp and 1200 dps. Right now resists are lacking as I just went into Merc. Any suggestions on gear?
