I just did Piety and reached merciless at lvl 50. Still using a crappy claw and a 4L. Got this waiting for me at lvl 52:

What do you use for AOE? I keep wishing I could Cleave, but obviously that isn't an option with the claws :p

Double strike is your AoE :)

If u have a 4L you will use: Double Strike + Multistrike + Added Fire + Melee Splash
Once you get a 5L you will add Faster Attacks to that.

You will be amazed how effective this is as an AoE

Died yesterday too. But it was becaus of a lag not because i had too few regen/hp.
Will start a new try with this soon.

I used Added Fire + Splash because i couldn't find Multistrike(Trade was too expensive), but I killed anything at lvl 40 without problems.
How long do you use Viper Strike? Why use Beartrap not Fire? (Used it wih increased burning and Aoe, good against Archers while you go melee.)

Only get 1 4-linked chest piece, no gloves or boots with more then 3 but i hope to get decent gear in higher Lvl. How much Links can a claw get: 3 or 4?

You should be able to get a 4L before lvl 40 IMO. Even if its just white or crap its still worth using it because your damage will go up by ALOT.

I use Viper Strike till I killed Vaal, after that I've secured my 4L and roll with Double Strike. The reason I use Beartraps is because I only use it for single targets. But using Fire trap in the beginning is surely a good option (I did as well).

A Claw can get 3 sockets so 3L just like the shield.

I've updated the first post with some more detailed info on the leveling part (especially Normal difficulty) because I got alot of whispers and PM's about that.

Hope this clarifies some things for alot of people. But ofcourse if you still have other questions or about the same subjects feel free to ask.

Also added my current gear (lvl 60).

Next to that I might try a different touch with my build. Currently testing it, will test it for one or two more days and if I like the result I will alternate the build accordiantly to the new spec.

Do you think it might be worth it to try and get the 2 reduced mana reservation nodes to the left of the Duelist start? You could go through Steel Skin to get there and gain a big armor increase on the way.
