Very disapointed that there is no healing line of skills or class

Healing doesn't have to be straight up gain x hp for y mp. It could be something like :
//cast to allow your next 2 hits to heal for x
- relies on hit
//cast to allow your next flask use to heal all allies (excluding yourself) within y yards for x% of amount
- this is a trade off since you don't get healed
//consume all mp to heal yourself for x% of mp consumed
- I doubt you can spam this

It's pretty obvious that ggg can be more creative.
A self-heal oriented class or skills might be added later. I think that might be much easier to balance than a straight-up healing / support character.

It's interesting seeing how divisive this topic is, though; some people seem so repulsed by the idea, viewing it as a kind of genre-defying mistake that leaves something like the taste of WoW in one's mouth. But PoE is an incredibly innovative game -- distending or re-inventing aspects of the genre is what makes the game so appealing (for me). Whatever happens, I think GGG'd make it work.

Self heal skills/passives are already there (life leech, life on hit, life on kill)
And there are some minor healing options - 1 of the auras and a totem skill (they increase life regen)
About support characters (more general support) they can already be made - check my response in this topic: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/39370/highlight/

You could put on some more auras to support your party even more (e.g. Purity (ele. resistances), anger (added fire damage) etc.) -> don't forget some passives to increase their radius

EDIT: also maybe doing some specialising in spell crits and going cold damage (crit. hits with cold daage freeze the enemys, and even if you don't freeze them they are still slowed at least).
Ice wall might also be worth considering as a 'supporter'

EDIT2: also there is a passive keystone which allows you to share your charges with party members (its called Conduit)

EDIT3: and curses might also be an interesting choise for a more support orientated character


Actually you can kinda 'specialise' in supporting already

-good with auras
-more Totems
-shares charges
-puts 2 curses on enemys, which never expires
-mainly uses cold, for the chill frozen effect (also increased duration for it)
-adding a lightning spell can also cause a lot of trouble for enemys because of good chance to shock them (any damage they receive is increased for 40%)

having a heal ability would bring a similar problem as being able to portal to heal and refill flasks during a boss fight. while it is entirely optional to do so, how easy it makes things makes ppl feel obligated to do so. being able to have a healing skill and a healing build could very well make the game too easy and make ppl feel like they have to have a healer or healing skills to get through the content. another similar problem is with resistances, many ppl feel like they have to have elemental and chaos resistances to be able to get through end game content and are displeased that it is that way. adding healing skills would bring its positives, as well as it negatives, which i'm worried it will bring a lot of.
