Extremely low fps.

Just by a little, It can go up to 40 at most but it is still rocking between 20-30

Texture filter is set on Trilinear.

It may be "pixel shader issue", as your card is not very good at that.
I suspect games that use less of it, works better on your card.
BTW, your card is design more for HTPC.

FYI: I have in-game player saying they run about 30fps with their Laptop's integrated card. As for what's the resoultion, IDK.

As for the spike in-game, its kinda common. This is especially so when your screen is filled with multiple skills animation; and mobs dropping loots; party members joining the same instance; Friends list notifications; Global chat spamming(try turning this off), etc.

BTW you could try adding this at the end of your "client.exe" to "client.exe -gc 2"
Maybe it would help.

And try not using Trilinear, see how it goes

My client is always running in "-gc 2" so that does not help at all.

I am running the game at 2x Anisotropic Filtering and nothing really changed...

I guess its really the Pixel Shader issue, What Pixel Shader does PoE use? If its 3.0 then it figures.
Pixel Shader 3.0 is a really big issue with most games that i run but if its 2.0 then the game will run in 720p at 60FPS no problem.

sad to say its 3.0

But also, The thing that i do not get is why does the game does not listen to my nVidia control panel? I set the Scaling Mode on "Aspect Ratio" and when i run the game at 800x600 it should at least give me black borders on both sides like other games do, But in this case it does not as if it does not know that i have an nVidia card plugged in.

It seems like I'm not the only one that thinks that Pixel Shader 2.0 should be added to the game as well, I mean so many people will be able to play at normal FPS if GGG does so.

I wouldnt be able to answer this.
Maybe some more experienced tester or the DEV can.

BTW:
-what monitor settings are u running.
-what OS resoultion are you running.

For both, Fullscreen and Windowed Fullscreen, i suspect the game over-rules the maker's software. It happens to some other games i encounter before.

Not sure what you meant by monitor setting but my OS resolution is 1680x1050.

There should be some buttons on your physical monitor.
There should be display info if your press the button(s).

It shows your the vert/hori hz and resolution the monitor is at, when different OS or Game resolutions are set.

If i am not wrong, sometime interpolation is done by your Graphic card or the monitor (i m not sure which).

Bumping because I have this same issue. I got into the beta today and when I try to play I have terrible choppy fps issues.

I have an i5 2500k, GeForce 560TI and 8 gigs of ram. I should be able to run this perfectly but regardless of which settings I use, from highest to lowest, 1920 I get a MAX of 30 fps but it sure doesn't feel like it. Extremely choppy. I really want to play =(

nVidia Geforce G210

Your video card has performance comparable to the Geforce 4400 TI on benchmarks.

The Geforce 4400 TI was released in 2002 as a budget gaming card.

Geforce G210 was released in 2010 as... I don't know what; it's just that bad of a card -- even at $50.

The only use I can come up with is that it's a cheap backup for gpu overclockers without onboard video (I have a similar crap card laying around somewhere just for that purpose). Now that I think about it, your card isn't even good for that, since you'd want a 1x pci-e slot card to play that role.

Sure, your card has more memory (512mb vs 128mb) and supports DX9... but, still... The "fix" would be buying a new gpu.

Note: For an HTPC, I'd just get a decent netbook with video-out that has a built-in digital to analog converter.

I suspect either:

1) Your CPU is just terribad.
2) You have vsync on with extreme anti-aliasing options set at the driver-level through your gpu's control panel.

Reason #1 would seem unlikely given your other specs -- but I don't take anything for granted on forums. ;)

I'll elaborate on reason #2:

With vsync on (and using standard crappy double buffering) your fps will be locked at either 60, or 30. Nothing in between. Note: It can go lower, but I've never personally seen it.

The only reason that card would lock at that low of a framerate with vsync on is if you're forcing some sick AA options through the control panel... like super-sampling AA.

I'm a fan of vsync, but only when done right: You have to force triple buffering using a tool like D3DOverride, and then lock your max framerate at 1 to 3 less than your max vertical refresh rate (57 for example) using a tool like Dxtory.

Now, you may be confused... ;) I explain it more detail here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/43071/page/1#p570080

Hope that helps. :D
