Worried about the new supporter packs
" Well, in a way, supporting the big picture, and thus contributing massively to the continued running and existence of the game, is IMO all part of the personal enjoyment of it. I see personal enjoyment as not just what you get right here, right now, but the satisfaction from being an integral part of something. That said, you're right about priorities, and even before you listed out what you had, I believed that most, if not all of the big spenders on POE, already have their priorities sorted out, and didn't throw a grand on the game while their kids were starving behind ;) You probably won't be the last Ruler, although I suspect you lot will be few and far between. That said, respect, to each and every supporter :) |

" Maybe where you live haha, here its a 5 months salary for an engineer... That being said if your cars cost that much I guess you need to earn tons where you live. Last edited by Mordread#1431 on Jun 8, 2013, 10:51:31 AM

I don't really care for the support packs, they make it pretty hard to feel like you're actually a meaningful supporter unless you drop over $200. :\

" Screw meaningful support! I wanted my rhoa :) ! Seriously, I think it's amazing how much support they get. Guess the world is really starving for good games. " LOL! That would be disturbing though o_O |

" Yes, but think you can vendor it for a divine? IGN = TheCIA

" You need to, but most people don't. That's why a car here is considered the second most expensive item you'll ever buy, after your house (of which a small, suburban 3-room apartment typically cost $200+k USD). But I digress, the cost of living here is for another topic. On topic... " Why would you say this? What do you consider "feeling meaningful"? Genuinely curious. |

What is better then taking from the Rich and giving to the poor?
Make the Rich give with pleasure. In my opinion the new supporter packs are absolutly genius. There are people who can afford it and better they spent it to fund GGG then buying their 3. Car new design wheels. |

My exact response when I saw the 12.5K pack was, 'Holy Fuck...erm, maybe."
Since I came to GGG and PoE in January of last year, I have contributed numerous times in various amounts across several accounts. My accounts (several from CB, this one was not initially my main), the wife's account, the brother's account, and a few random ones for friends. Tbh, at this rate, had all of my contributions been made via a single account, I could have already been well on my way to the Ruler status. People will spend as they can, when they can, on what they can. I look at PoE as a hobby. One of three that I have. And sadly, knowing my contribution totals, this is not even the most expensive. Point is, people spend a ridiculous amount of cash each year just to keep themselves entertained. When all of that funding falls into a single habit rather than being spread across multiple interests, one would be surprised how fast it can add up. Consider what the average person drops each year in Blu-Ray, iTunes, alcohol, Facebook games, amusement parks, XBOX, PS3, PSP, DS, PC... consolidate all of that year spending on 'fun' into one channel, and you would be amazed at the results. Personally, a large part of my contributions come from another hobby, which always makes things easier. ...narf Last edited by SqueakyToyOfTerror#0940 on Jun 8, 2013, 3:14:37 PM

There once was an icecream that cost $25.000. It had gold sprinkled all over it. Now that's sick.
